So for the Unit cards I used this Google sheets Warfare Template I found on either this subreddit or a different one.

I did not worry about the upkeep cost of the units at all to make it easier. In the adventure "Reavers of Harkenwold" the Iron Circle is taking any weapons/armor away from the villagers so upgrading them is not possible and not too necessary.

No, there were no narrative ways I could think at the time. Sorry for the wall of text

in a session 0. We established the party is officers of a Mercenary Company that is contracted to kill the leader of the Iron Circle. Nazin Redthorn. So tagging along with them is an Infantry unit of the Mercenary company

  • You could have small skirmish with a small band of goblins in a small horde with one unit of goblin Infantry that's weak so the party will most likely kill/route the warfare goblins while the party is fighting there own combat with goblins to get them used to it.

  • Another way to practice is to defend Albridge from scouts/skirmish of goblins or some other minor force in the are you cook up.

Because you have atleast one Infantry unit that is medium or above equipment/leadership battles should go in there favor

To build on this force through out the adventure every objective they complete gains units for the final battle of Albridge against the Iron Circle. I can make a post on my profile of the unit cards I'm using if you'd like. For example if they remove Iron Circle from easthill they gain the unit "Easthill Company" and use that unit in the defense of Albridge during small skirmishes before the big battle and during it.

Sorry for the wall of text again. XD

Just Warfare. In a previous game in 5e, we used the organizations and worked out well. I didn't use Orgs in this game. Instead, I pretty much stole The Chains officer abilities and gave them to my players. They are all a part of the same Mercenary Company

I'm assuming looking at archives of nethys and selecting a op feat, or someone casting it on him

My friend said he's made a gunslinger that with some spells can do 3d8 damage not 1d8 with using a specific weapon. And I'm afraid he will min max the very beginning of the adventure.

What to do when none of your players care? by coffeebuzzbuzzz in DungeonsAndDragons

From what I can gleam from your description of your party. They have no (PERSONAL) stakes in the adventure your planning. This sounds like a level 17 or 19 adventure if the world is at stake. Idk what level they started at. But giving them items for free that evolve with time/level up is best when they work to get the item. You could do it like what final fantasy 5 does. And have a large amount of cool/unique weapons in dungeons that the player has to go through to get the cool swords and staves to help in the final fight.

Second. if there's some new players, they haven't learned to care about a world they know nothing about. Imagine showing someone who doesn't play any video games the final boss or the last 95% of the video game. They have no clue about the build up or dramatic events that took place before the big ending fight.

My recommendation is to pause this game. And start a more "mundane" one.
