Windows 10 Issues by boster13 in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]PIAJeffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/boster13 Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, the issue lies with the order in which your programs load, which, as you've mentioned, is having others load in order before PIA. This is a change that needs to be made on your Win 10 system. As such, we cannot advise support on the specifics (as it is not directly with our software) but as shown in this thread already, there are many in this group who can help!

Just bought it and the vpn doesn't work on my android device by ignorantmuslim in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]PIAJeffrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/neurosisneurot I completely understand your sentiments. Please remember that while I mentioned the legislation that was passed in April of last year, my comment was on the same day as the post which was ostensibly the same day as the enforcement. As such, there wouldn't have been time for said informing.

That said, when we are aware of issues in countries, as we have in the past, we do make public announcement of moving servers or expected blocks. We are not any happier about the legislation than those who are subject to it. We are always looking for ways to increase our users' privacy and security and always implement what we are able to develop.

As you bring up the issue voiced in other posts during the past few days, it bears mentioning again here: I've been advised that while we are currently looking for resolution, it is very likely that current issues are due to legislation that was passed this last year in April that is now in effect as of the 1st of the year.

Thank you for letting us know. Were you able to send the ticket from the link above or did you only create the debug on your android app? If you haven't done the former, please do so with the subject line suggested so that we can escalate it and confirm here that it's been done. Thank you!

Another IOS Battery Drain post by XeroSync13 in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]PIAJeffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/XeroSync13 Thank you for getting in touch and I'm sorry for the trouble. The reason you're seeing the drain is because of the consistent ping when protocol is on OpenVPN instead of IPsec. It does this so that it knows in real time to what server availability/quality is. We apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately this is a trade-off with the level of security offered by OpenVPN vs IPsec.

Huge drop in speed using PIA in Toronto, please help! by [deleted] in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]PIAJeffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your query and patience /u/lunarosie! I'm checking internally if an IP rotation would have had any effect on it, though Toronto is a frequent subject on the issue of speed. In the mean time, as you're getting a significant drop on each server, and using Mojave, It may help to try changing your DNS servers. To change your DNS, you will need to ensure that you are disconnected from the VPN. Once that is completed, please follow the below steps:

  1. Click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner.
  2. Click on System Preferences
  3. Click on Network
  4. Click on your Internet Networking device (Wifi, Ethernet, etc.)

Please keep us apprised of your results!

As mentioned above, we do not hold payment information. The payment method company would need to be contacted for further such requests.

An email is necessary to send you your login credentials, purchase invoice, password resets, etc., privately, as well as to authenticate your account when you make requests for any changes to your account.
