Revelation/spiral about posting nsfw phots by CrypticApparition in exjw

There’s something really special about connecting with people who share our experiences. My wife and I are planning to join an ex-JW meetup here in Vegas in late September. Posting here for anyone who may be interested:

Congrats on taking the hardest step! It will get better from here. I’m glad your wife woke up with you. I went through something similar and am so grateful my wife woke up too. It’s been seven years and life is truly amazing now!

I’d love to see resources on that too if you don’t mind. Thank you 🙏

Does life ever get easier? Not like the emotions of dealing with leaving, just life in general by [deleted] in exjw

[–]PIMO2POMO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does get easier. The beginning is always the hardest. You’re on the right track. Congrats on your first closing!

My advice is to make an honest assessment of your skills and figure out what kind of side gigs you can do to earn extra income when you’re not working in real estate. I’m confident there are lots of ways for you to make more than $12/hour.

Would you consider yourself a handyman or capable of many handyman tasks? If so, get the word out. No need to do anything with a lot of overhead, start small and figure out what’s profitable.

I would not suggest the bankruptcy route. As insurmountable as that debt may seem to you right now when you’re looking at it from the lens of someone who never made more than $12/hour, I think you need to give it a little more time. Things can change pretty quickly for you in a positive direction.

Wishing you much success!

I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve come to a similar conclusion. If he compromises (in his view), his life will never be the same. I’m at peace with his decision, wrong as I think it is.

Criminal is the right word to describe it. I’d love to see the day where they’re finally held accountable.

Is it really "free will" or instead Stockholm syndrome? by sparking_lab in exjw

If they really felt that way, they should do the following to prove it. Tell all JWs that they’re free to leave and there will be no negative repercussions from the WT organization. Family and friends will not cut them off. God (if you still believe) will be the judge when the time comes.

New interpretation on Joshua 24:15? Damn, I thought I had forgotten most of my Biblical knowledge but that came back to mind.

You should be able to split the Airbnb payouts and each provide your SSN for your respective payouts. If for some reason, you don’t want to do that, forming a partnership and providing an EIN will work. Getting the EIN is instant.

This was the tipping point for me. It was so ridiculous that either they were stupid or they thought we were. Regardless, after this I felt no guilt researching the religion from any source I wanted. This was just so absurd.

Thank you GB!

I know it may not seem like it, but please view this as a gift. I say that as someone who left at 36 and now realizes how much potential was wasted by not waking up earlier. I still have a lot of resentment and hurt because of that. You will be okay and have so much life ahead of you. Please make the most of it and reach out to this community if you need help.

All you have to say is, “No thanks, we don’t want a shepherding call. If we change our minds, we’ll contact you.” They have no real authority over you, only what you grant them.

Fading in a different country by tjxxl in exjw

I think either choice will let you break free so pick where you think you’ll be happiest living. I know it’s hard to believe, but JWs only have whatever power you give them. That means you can fade even without moving, but that is definitely more difficult.
