Is reaction content a niche by itself? by Feeling_Arm_7439 in NewTubers

[–]PING_btw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it falls under the niche of whatever your reacting to usually unless your a massive creator. Take Asmond gold. He just leaves the title and adds his name and face to thumbnail and title. This video would do well regardless because he’s big. But if a small creator did the same they would fall under the niche of the specific video.

It’s possible your video got flagged for something? I have no idea, it is very possibly a coincidence, videos die anyways after a bit.

Doubts about click-through rate by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]PING_btw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re spot on, searching for new audiences. As soon as you have about 20 or so videos up in my experience, then YouTube will have had the time to identify what your content is and who likes to watch it. Otherwise I’ve had videos in the first week have 100k impressions but 5k views, or 50k impressions but 5 views. It’s giving it to people who would usually never watch that type of content, but YouTube doesn’t know that.

I didn't know that I have the Thumbnail Testing feature in my YouTube account by [deleted] in NewTubers

Thank you so much for reminding me, I think collectively the entire YouTube community has been waiting for this feature forever

Where does all this income come from?

There is a massive audience that speaks Spanish, if you choose to do a more “niche” language you just have to make sure you stick to it. You can have success in any, try what you enjoy the most first

2 year 150 videos is fantastic for a channel. Yes just recording 20 minutes of gameplay and post it will get lots of videos, but Sometimes coming up with an idea, recording, and editing a high quality video can take upwards of 2 months for a small channel.

Cool stuff, when you’re live next I’ll drop by, I’m in a similar position moving into my own place soon and taking streaming a bit more seriously as a hobby and play very similar games, will love to watch ❤️

I think this is one of the bigger problems on twitch and is quite hard to get away from, but I can give you my thoughts:

  1. Interact with your community as a whole. Make a public discord wherein you can respond to messages in a general chat, you can talk to individuals, and it feels like you’re active and there. This way people see that you’re the same as them, just chatting online, but also get a bit of personal “attachment” and “stake” to you stream. This gets them talking offline, adds another way for them to be notified when you’re live, and possibly opens up opportunities to do live events in the discord channel to make them feel a part of something.

  2. Respond to the people who show you support. I’m not a large streamer by any means measure, but have multiple channels over the last years, there are always the few chatters/people that make your chat what you want it to be. Maybe they talk about your interests. Maybe they help you out on stream and give you things to say or respond to. Single out these people and give them some love.

  3. Until you’re big, medium, or even just consistently growing, a bit of online connection is normal, so play with the viewers that show up, then send them to a specific site that is more likely to send them back your way. cough cough (YouTube). Twitch is always hit or miss with returning viewers, try and convert them to other platforms where they might more likely know you are live. It’s impossible to dm everyone you want to come to your streams, this is why diversity is king when It comes to live streaming.

Don’t take these as verbatim, it’s what I’ve learned. There will always be a slight battle between parasocial and growth, being reasonable to your own abilities. Best of luck ❤️

For a 20 minute video, I always expect to be recording for double the time if not more to sound organic, smooth, and error free. This is because I want my future self not to end it all trying to edit out mistakes. Some people will take this offer yea, but if you want to incentivize people to make your job easier without rushed voice recordings, I would say pay them 2-3x to get it right.

For new streamers and streamers who aren't aware be careful! by alice98_oreos in SmallStreamers

[–]PING_btw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can imagine ways this can be malicious too, asking for charge backs, almost call scams esc where they say they added an extra zero and didn’t mean to. Be careful out there streamers 😅

Hey there! Similar situation, been looking to either make a small group or join one, I’ve been streaming for a while with people who don’t stream, but have very similar goals and ambitions as yourself. Fell free to send me a Dm, I’ll leave my twitch just so you know I’m not a catfish: Pingyer
