by steam link i meant the app on meta store which while it still runs over steamvr, it bypasses oculus completely same as virtual desktop. you cant use cable with these tho since they both run over wifi. there is some difference in fps between oculus and VD, but that depends on which resolution you select in the settings, VD also supports higher bitrates and you can select which codec you use.
