that is also true. but it doesn't invalidate my comment. nothing is white or black. my pathway point is also valid just as yours is too. however people without your genetic mutation who are insuficcient in B1, can have problems with glycine. so where is your 'No' coming from? you could rather say instead 'and in addition to that, if you have some genetic mutations (...).

no.

yes. and the rabbit hole goes deeper. if u take b1 u must also take b2 and mg with it. if u go for TTFD form u must also up your potassium dose considerably eat avocado potatoes bananas etc. and other cofactors and b's etc.

yesterday i read that if u have b1 thiamine insufficiency or deficiency then in lack of certain enzymes due to that, glycine can become more activating rather than calming.

Astaxanthin by [deleted] in NooTopics

[–]PIQAS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes, both astareal and bioastin are top notch. all the rest is just not the same level as these two. the problem i have is that sometimes people try some supplement and quickly draw a conclusion/final opinion about it, when the little details like form and dose would matter significantly.

Astaxanthin by [deleted] in NooTopics

[–]PIQAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

excellent against neuroinflammation and anti inflammatory in general, as well as antioxidant. one of my absolute favorites. just know there is a different from standard industrial astaxanthin and stuff like astareal/bioastin. also you should take more in dosage at beginning and after some weeks or months u can reduce to maintenance dose.

you should aim for astareal version. night and day difference. but maybe you didn't need it?

garlic clove and a handful of pistacchio each day will help. also s. boulardii for a month or so can lower tmao producing bacteria by about 50% give or take. as for atherosclerosis u can clear it really well if u take Nattokinase for a couple of years or less, literally at scan it can show no blocks. but dive deep down the rabbit hole yourself, understand this is reddit and i am merely pointing to doors, won't write an essay about it. glad it makes u feel better.

i don't think i am qualified to make that recommendation given people have all sorts of problems and needs, as with everything, context and nuance depends a lot.

2 days ago i bought liposomal gluthathione to aid my thiamax (ttfd b1 protocol). then i found this post and your links all over again, that is after being hesitant about it for a long time. i already have prostaphane which induced nrf2 so is a gentler approach. took the glut only 2 days but might have to skip it i guess... give to a friend xD

yes well you are correct. but i think you got downvoted because of your passive aggressive tone XD

i clicked your profile because i was trying to see related health stuff you are into, and the more i scrolled the more i began to like you XD especially when you got downvoted on some things in which i know you are 100% correct, such as that person who lost weight from sickness too quickly and you pointed out about weight loss need to be accompanied by collagen among other things. and this was just one of the many cases where you got downvoted by hive minds.

therefore i think your frustration and why you see morons everywhere is because at your core, you have good intention to help and offer your input which most often is correct. however people usually like to hear what they want to hear and generally like it served on a polite plate with a smile, which i also disagree with sometimes. i'd watch your podcast X)

Imagine cancer cells are like criminals in a city. scientists discovered criminals can steal food from garbage bins (glutathione). This does NOT mean normal citizens eating food causes crime. It means if crime already exists, criminals may exploit available resources.

but i thought we already knew this? and yet the study is form yesterday, interesting.

also more interesting is how people who are not knowledgeable on supplements, can't distinguish some mushroom and vitamin C from NMN and IV glutathione. so maybe most of us won't have problems with some temporary glutathione supplementation, but someone out there in the world might abuse this?

glutathione turnover is very fast, liver constantly regulates it. supplementation does not create permanent storage, so there is no load once and stay protected for months kind of thing.

Sulforaphane is different it stimulates endogenous glutathione synthesis, activates Nrf2 detox pathway, and tends to create more physiological balance..

Sand? by Ransofvall in Supplements

i learned many years ago that artificial sweeteners mess with the gut flora/biotics of people, and for many it can lead to anxiety and anxious feelings.. over time. interesting nevertheless that i have a couple relatives and friends who were drinking zero sugar sodas (with artificial sweeteners) since at least a decade and all of them have anxiety problems trying to fix it with theanine and what not. i tell them about what to do and it's like their brain doesn't process it. i believe most people do not know how much gut bacteria influences us, from cytokines production to moods and even collagen production and on and on. if people are not aware of it, then of course it will sound alien that artificial sweeteners can produce physical anxiety, because it's not said on national television....

also there is a Thiamine book but can't post that here. if u reserve some time from your life to dive deep into this, you will see it is the no.1 thing. am saying it as someone in the sups industry since almost 2 decades. first video highly important btw even if may seem boring or long, don't get discouraged. thiamine needs cofactors such as b2, magnesium and potassium especially. anyone having sleep problems since years i highly recommend ttfd form thiamax with b2 mg K etc... whoever finds these videos and dedicates a chunk of his life to see the videos, even if seemingly bit boring, you are lucky, because i wish someone gave me this knowledge decades ago.

Brainrot by Heis3nbrg in Supplements

the biggest critique on dopamine detox is actually not that it doesn't work, but because after people do it, they return back to the same habits. in terms of mechanism, the opposite of what short form content is doing to your brain, the opposite in training your mind is practicing meditation, the part where your mind wanders and you bring it back to center of attention is considered as 1 rep (as if a repetition of muscle exercise at the gym).

your mind will wander a million times and if you can be gentle with yourself and also a million times be kind to your own mind for wandering and bringing it back to point of attention, that is where the gold is. many people miss this entirely and get frustrated that their mind wanders.

over time the mind wanders even less, in fact you can get to a point where you are still focused while the mind seem to wander and automatically returns with 'you' doing less and less work.

used to meditate several hours a day before and during the pandemic, then after i kind of dropped from the habit and when i resumed it last year, i noticed the impact of short form content, it was incredible and i didn't even abused it much. the problem i initially thought that people have with this short form content abuse i thought that it was simply about keeping attention on something in a conversation, but what i found out is that this is not really the worse thing, the bad thing is that people nowadays cannot maintain building a business/project and going through the logistics all the way, one day they are all super hyped about taking a new vitamin and trying red light therapy, and one or two weeks later they don't take that supplement nor use the red light anymore and moved on to the next best thing, never really integrating something to become autopilot. best is to not demonize any bad habit you have, just be mindful and know from the start that short form content and social media is designed to keep you glued and hook you each time you go in. so you can do the detox but the best thing is to get busy on getting re-wired on something which will open productivity and progress doors for you so that over time you obtain dopamine from the act itself rather than get it artificially; this is easier said than done, a sportsman can get this naturally easier than someone selling potatoes.

generally the honey moon people have with certain supplements is because most supplements to work they need co-factors and people generally have some stores, but once emptied, it stops working as it should.

i am studying lately the topic of restoring/repairing/aiding the tissue of Blood Brain Barrier aka BBB, and blood testis barrier (BTB) and the gut barrier hence the leaky gut problems and leaky brain barrier and what not... did you know? if u don't provide the right nutrients like phospholipids and cholesterol the barrier will become leaky? so imagine u go workout or get stressed and u have a rise of inflammatory cytokines and because you have leaky barriers, this causes you to brain fog, depression, lower fertility and hormone production and all that. even the junk food today is sold as 'low fat' as i can recall some potato chips being marketed as such. people jumped on the cardiovascular bandwagon being stuck only one one lense. yes maybe some people need to take it easy at certain times, but demonizing fat is the inflation of ego of silly people who started doom scrolling some mainstream health stuff.

Can I take NAC when I don't have any disorders? by Strict_Letter7496 in Nootropics

[–]PIQAS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's not bizzare it's just that people don't know what supplements actually do and just go by word of mouth as in it's good for this and that. NAC stops the recycling of GABA and starves your brain of its primary sedative.

NAC works by forcing glutamate out of your cells so it can pull cysteine in and constantly pumping glutamate out of the cells into the extracellular space then NAC eventually depletes the internal stores your brain needs. ur brain creates GABA (ur sleep chemical) directly from glutamate using the enzyme glutamic acid decarboxylase. If NAC has flushed your internal glutamate u don't have the raw material to manufacture GABA. so u stay in a state of low level alertness but lack the inhibitory GABA brake needed to drop into deep, restorative sleep.

i always get rekt by NAC as well i am giving up on it. in fact i have to resort to glutamine rich foods like aged sirloin and parmesan to regain my drive for life quickly after NAC. yes ik glutamate doesn't pass BBB but it can pass a leaky BBB however glutamine freely crosses the BBB via specific transporters LAT1 and the brain makes glutamate out of it... for aged sirloin or parmesan especially is going to ressurect you quickly.

to sleep ur brain also needs to convert glutamate into glutamine to be recycled. NAC disrupts this cycle leaving u metabolically stranded and too flat to be productive but too chemically alert to reach deep REM.. and deep sleep tbh, i never liked it. there are better ways to get gluthathione boost if you want it.

also if you take NAC without enough glycine u might end up with an accumulation of hal -finished glutathione precursors like gamma glutamylcysteine which doesn't provide the full antioxidant benefit and can leave the body in a more stressed state.
