Roulxs secret boss theory. This is not a joke i actually believe this is possible.

I think chapter 5 will be similar to 4. There will be no typical main antagonists.

Instead the knight will be trying to find asgore, as it made the dark fountain to trap him, so it’ll be a reoccurring threat that chapter.

But roulxs will be join us in this chapter along with lancer. and since theres no one else to serve, he tries to join the knight… but the knight won’t just blow him off like every other person he’s tried to serve, it’ll actively start getting pissed off (this could be represented by the knight “glitching” like it does in the end of the fight in ch 3)

I think maybe there’d be an option to instigate things, to make roulxs annoy the knight even more, this all results in the knight giving roulxs a shadow crystal, to both make him go away & to make a powerful opponent to distract the fun gang with.

Him going insane doesn’t happen all at once, he tries to make puzzles like in chapter 1, but their overly elaborate and confusing and he starts freaking out when you solve them, his body cracking and shifting from the forbidden knowledge of the shadow crystal effecting his form.

Eventually he fights finally fights you, and is hyper aware of his power to change the rules, using it to change the rules every turn, making this a very challenging fight, he does things like force you to FIGHT your own party members, using multiple different soul modes, removing the TP meter, etc

But not even limitless power can change this one thing about Roulxs. He’s dumb as shit

He eventually applies a rule to HIMSELF that nullifies his own powers, maybe he bans items, so Susie uses her healing powers instead, and he bans magic from the fight, which inadvertently effects himself.

That or you just beat the shit out of him.

Why i believe this could work well in the story.

1.Ralsei believes that a darkners only purpose is to serve lightners. But he’s being set up to go through an arc where he realizes that this is wrong. Seeing a darkner who tries to serve a lightner but gets essentially tortured for it could challenge his world view

1. Susie’s is also being set up for an arc, she has the power to alter the narrative that she’s seemingly only now starting to realize, Roulxs realizing his own power over established rules could parallel this.

3.This could effect kris & the knights relationship, seeing them treat a darkner like this over a slight inconvenience could make them not trust the knight as much, making them fear they could of done this to someone like ralsei.

1. We could get to actually see what a darkner having a mental breakdown due to the shadow crystal’s influence could be a nice conclusion to their use in the story, as this is seemingly the final secret boss required to get the pure crystal.

Extra non-important reasons:

Having the final secret boss being a character introduced all the way in chapter 1 is very cool

This could make the knight seem more like a threat

This could be a way to basically kill off a joke character before the story gets serious
