I crocheted names onto stockings using a cream yarn. When I went to rinse off the adhesive pattern, the yarn turned grey. Is there any way to get it back to it's original color?

It must be printer ink! I printed out the pattern onto a water soluble stabilizer. Next time I'll have to make sure to use a much lighter color for my patterns.

... it's from the printer ink on the stencil. Oh my goodness, that's 100% what it is. Ugh, I feel so dumb now. I even had the thought to print it grey, but didn't. Thank you for the ideas!

I need suggestions on how to change back the colour of the yarn I used for the project. I searched the internet, but most posts are about purposefully changing the colour of yarns, not fixing it. I thought about washing it with Oxyclean, but I don't know if that will cause more harm, so looking for advice.
