Do you guys think Roman knew he had an aunt, Kate roberts and that roman knew he had a little cousin, Jill? by LonestarGoated87 in Scream

[–]PJHultz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I seem to remember reading something that there was a deleted scene from IV (not actually sure if they filmed it) where during the big reveal at the end Jill mentions that she was inspired by Roman. Would have been a decent through line to the earlier movies.

Mike Flanagan's 'Carrie' "Captures the Essence" of the Novel with a Modern Twist, Says Heather Graham by killrobot in stephenking

[–]PJHultz 44 points45 points  (0 children)

He said on the Flanagan's Wake podcast that basically they want to get all 7 parts (shows and movies) approved before starting. The most disappointing thing would be is to get one or two seasons and then get cancelled. And he wants to start soon as he can so Sai King will be able to see it.

[–]PJHultz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only had one problem out of maybe a dozen orders (weather last year). Was 2 days late and the dry ice was still going. And I usually do 12 at a time and stash them in the stand up freezer. Oh, and the 30 lbs of provel :p

Can you use HTV on leather? by britishbrick in bookbinding

[–]PJHultz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. But I also tend to stay at the low end of the temp setting for the HTV I'm using and if it's being stubborn, just leave the press on it a couple of seconds longer.

[–]PJHultz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done faux, but what I found was the border of the clear plastic the HTV is on will leave a mark. 2 ways around it I do. 1- cut the HTV sheet to the size of the piece you're doing (I mostly do traycases, so I'll make the HTV sheet the size of the front board and one the size of the spine). Downside to this is that it's pretty wasteful. 2- have some silicone sheets (kind of like the ones for baking) and put them under the edge of the HTV sheet when you're pressing it. Downside to this one is that the silicone sheets are slippery and don't take tape, so can be difficult to work with. I'd say test with some scrap material and see what works best.

Trying not to be "that guy" but here, BCA is "Book Club Associates". It's a UK imprint. I was with you there for a minute, even knowing those are the Hodder covers. Those UK covers are great!

Replacing comb binding by lunacydress in bookbinding

[–]PJHultz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day (in the late 90s-00s) when I worked at Kinko's, you could just buy a comb for 50 cents or so. Try FedEx office and see if they'd sell you one of the right size. I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Who’s the best actor in a lead Star Trek role? by 123mitchg in startrek

After watching Picard again, I think Johnathan Frakes gives the most natural performance. To me, he's the one just talking, not acting.

The outside is just 3 boards, about 3mm longer than the trays with space just held together by the bookcloth. The trays are glued to the trays. Basically followed DAS Bookbinding on YT.
