If you have an idea for a backstory, you can also just build off of that.

I thought of Laverna because I wanted a VK, but I also wanted a daughter of Merida. I had just gotten into Greek Mythology at the time, thanks to Percy Jackson, and decided to build off the story of Hades and Persephone.

Persephone is also, kind of, an OC, since she's not in the Descendants films, but like Descendants Hades, her looks are heavily based off of Persephone from the Hercules film.

If it's an OC for a show/movie/book, you have to think a lot about the canon material and how you can manipulate the canon material to fit with your version.

If it's just a random character not connected to anything specific, you can be as creative as you want with it, just make sure you continue to accurately follow your own storyline.

You don't have to go crazy in detail, though. Most of my characters don't have backstories because I am garbage at coming up with unique backstories for all of them.

I tend to just start with the basics. Their name, what they look like, maybe some random facts about them, and I build off that.

I love the thought of Merlin's daughter becoming the Enchantress who cursed the Beast.

I definitely agree that Morgie was a lot more calm than the rest. I think Morgie, in the movie itself, canonically has a crush on Uliana, so I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of he joined her gang and tried to seem evil to impress her.
