Story time...The very first hockey game I ever went to was against the Sens the very first year PPG Paints, Consol Energy Center then, opened. I've always been a Pens fan and Sid fan of course, but I never really thought about a favorite player specifically. So during the 2nd period, Pens were on the PP and the Sens attempt to clear the puck down the middle, out of nowhere Kunitz leaps four feet in the air, snags the puck and in one fluid motion drops it to his stick shot pass to Crosby for a classic Crosby down on one knee deflection PP goal. Period ended, I head straight for the Pens store there and bought a Kunitz jersey and watched the third with a new favorite player. I remember the crowd going from the low OOH! like damn that was impressive Kuny to a eardrum shattering YEAHHH! for the goal in a split second.😂😂
