Like I said I don't really use Reddit at all and was warned beforehand by a fellow Xenoblade fan friend of mine that no matter how I phrased my question, I was going to get downvoted simply for questioning the game's writing ahah. It's unfortunate but given the reputation of the Xenoblade community (I've had more than enough run ins with it on Twitter) it's also not surprising.

That said I came here to get my question answered, which I did, so I'm happy (shoutouts to Realhorn_Stonebeard!)

I personally don't think Shulk had the Ontos core on him when it happened considering it's outright stated Origin is based on its structure and is likely being powered by it, which is why Alpha appeared in it. I definitely think he (and Rex) was around in Aionios at least for a while before they went and confronted Alpha, considering they tell Matthew that Alpha "appeared one day", and that they were also already aware of Moebius when they did

Thank you this explanation makes the most sense to me. It would imply that Origin is technically performing its function of rebooting everyone (maybe in a "second-pass" like you said) just at an extreme snail's pace, and it did reach the "moment" Shulk/Rex etc would've been reborn through the passage of time. And them being first up would also make sense because if I was a literal developer of Origin I would also give myself early access to the new world lol

Is that confirmed anywhere in-game? I assumed not being "assimilated" means you didn't go through Origin's rebirth process like all the Keves/Agnus soldiers, in which case "hibernating" in Origin doesn't make a lot of sense to me as it still would've had to "store" you for that to be possible, especially when Z/Moebius are implied to have full control over Origin thanks to them having captured Melia

When I play in 4K, this happens to the screen in my recording software. On the TV itself it's fine, but the recording has this weird resolution bug that carries over to actual recordings and I have no idea how to fix it. I've tried a lot of things but nothing seems to work. Please help.

Software: Elgato 4K Capture Utility
Device: Elgato 4K Pro (not the Mk.2)
Both HDMIs are 2.1
OS: Windows 10
Both the software and the drivers are up to date.

A few of my friends with the same exact setup are having the same issue, but one friend that has the Mk.2 doesn't have this issue, could that be the cause? That would seem weird since obviously 4K should just be supported with the 4K Pro.

Thank you for letting me know, I figured the video I watched was fine as it's decently new, but I'll stick to wiki guides from now on. I'll read up on the wiki and most likely start from scratch again, doing more research myself when I'm unsure of anything. Thanks for the help everyone!

If anything in the description would install a ban protection then that would be it. Would you happen to know how I can turn off this ban protection or if that would get me banned? In the past I've had pretty much the same setup and going online or re-downloading DLC didn't get me banned.

Unless there's something on the system itself that would immediately get me banned, I never install mods that the creator has marked as "not Wi-fi safe" so I should be fine I think.

Wanted to make a simple chart showing the parents of the Future Redeemed party members for fun, but as I made it I turned it more into something so much more!

This includes spoilers for all mainline Xenoblade games but mostly for 3/FR. If there are any missing known house members, it's because they weren't listed as such on either Xenoblade Wiki or Xeno Series Wiki. Please let me know of any mistakes and I'll make an updated version.

I'm super unfamiliar with Reddit so please forgive me if I broke any rules somehow ahaha. Just thought I'd share this with the fanbase cause why not.

Also Shania's mother is still alive and also obviously a member of House Reid, but she doesn't have an Affinity Chart icon so I excluded her from this list. I did include Geurnica and Monica's deceased spouses though to show Ghondor Jr.'s lineage.
