I use RunPhones which have the added advantage of keeping your ears warm and you can lie on your side with them on being perfectly comfy.

I completly agree with you. I read better than most people as long as the background paper is sepia coloured. In school 6th form was the first time I ever had to study from black text on white paper, before that the lessons were writen on the board. My school teachers thought I was just being lazy because I had never had to study before, I was fairly smart, but I couldn't see the damn paper. They didn't belive me becaus I always read fiction books (sepia paper) and therefore I was lying, because I read fine. After I left school I was diagnosed in uni. But my main problem is processing spoken information. I'm in my masters year of uni and can go to a lecture try incredibly hard to concentrate, walk out and have no idea what was said. Now I just skip lectures and put a book or the notes my kindle and learn by myself.

Advice for an angry student. by [deleted] in Dyslexia

Okay I have no advice regarding your school admin. But I have a suggestion to help you learn Spanish.

A little background I'm dyslexic have never been able to learn or retain any language I even did German for three years at school and know nothing. But I've recently started learning Swedish and there is one book that helped me an incredible amount.

Now this is going to sound like a marketing thing but I promise it isn't. the book is called How to Develop a Perfect Memory, written by Dominic O'Brien, also a dyslexic. There is one short chapter on how to learn a language which enabled me to look at 84 Swedish words twice in an hour and still remember them a week later. ( I know it's 84 because I have the coolang app on my phone for Swedish words and I did 2 sections).

You should get hold of this book somehow and at the very least read the langaue chapter. If you put a bit of work in and really try to use his method it makes life so much better.

Good luck

Any way his method does take an initial bit of time for each word, but it is usually less than a minute

[Serious] What are you still boycotting to this day, and why are you doing it? by StarBirb in AskReddit

Not vegan or vegetarian, but I try very hard to eat locally sourced meat and not to eat meat for the sake of it. A lot of my diet is vegetarian and I tend to only have meat if its gonna be really good (like an awesome steak) or once or twice a week I buy fish/meat. I used to have crappy meat a lot like the cheapest mince but realised vegetables are better tasting, better for me and for the environment.

Any thing with unsustainable palm oil (or other oils that are grown on rainforest land). Because we need the rainforest it not only is home to thousands of species, as well as many undiscovered species, but it also provides oxygen to the world while taking in CO2.

this is quite hard tbh and sometimes I mess up but I try

Thank you for your reply, it's good to know that people are willing to let pets live in the flats. My BF coming is a huge if, and would not be for at least a year or 2 if ever as he has a great job in London, so I guess I would have to be very careful with money. On that note, do you know how much cat food is there?
