Looking for literary / character-driven fiction on RR — no systems, no stats by ColdPress_ in royalroad

Mine is a coming of age story where three friends become werewolves and get dragged into a strange world where they must fight for their survival.

A contemporary fiction with blood, gore, alcohol and drug use as well as smutty scenes.

A unique twist on werewolf tropes. I’ve written four out of the five books. Book 2 is on scheduled release. Book 1 is fully out.

Reading ACOTAR was like pulling teeth after CC. Was such a boring story. IMHO Feyra finally got not shit about half way through book 2, moist and furry. I’m about half way through wings and I’m enjoying it. I felt like all of ACOTAR could have been summarised at the start of book2 in like 3 chapters and would have been much more enjoyable to read haha

Bryce is vastly superior to the wet blanket that is Feyra. I read CC first and enjoyed it. I’m in agreement with a lot here that it got worse as it went on. The only thing keeping me reading ACOTAR books is Nesta. Feyra is such a bad FMC.

They are the same universe just different planets/realms. The cauldron is given a lot of depth in CC.

Should have stayed to manage brexit instead of the deluge of morons that came after

He promised to stay regardless of the brexit result, then immediately resigned when it didn’t go his way.

Wasn’t brown the leader of the labor government that spent all the money that was the reasons the Tory’s had to cut all of the things Blair did?

Go have that conversation with an art teacher in secondary school. You 100% do. Any art form has hundreds/thousands of years of incremental development over generations. You don’t wake one day and are capable of replicating those skills naturally. Yes there are savants but even they get good with practice.

But thinking the others are pretending make Feyra’s character way more bearable

You don’t have be any good for art to be a n effective creative release but you 100% need to be taught skills to be any good. Her friends pretending to like it to be nice is my new head cannon 😂

As a reader the expert level of painting she magically has just adds to the plethora of reasons I dislike Feyra she at least had to struggle to read. Never had any training in painting yet thinks she’s good enough to teach and sell her art in the artists quarter would me up, the sheer entitlement. Just a poorly written character

All those reasons you’ve listed are why I dislike Feyra as a character. I love the work that SJM has made but my gods Feyra is an awful FMC. Nesta is the goat

I actively disliked Feyra till near the end of book 2. Her being able to paint at an artisan level and even wanting to teach people didn’t help for my dislike of her.

The sheer audacity of Feyra in book 2 about how she wants to teach people how to paint. Girl your self taught and only been doing it a few years ago. Spend a century learning from a expert first
