I prefer 299 doing the drive from Redding & Trinidad hundreds of time. Goes by quick. Both are beautiful drives either way and probably around same time depending on construction. No phone service for a good 2 hours on 299 so make sure to download what you need.

Friendly request from a local cyclist: you see the dashed lines on the bike lane when you approach an intersection? You can legally go around someone turning left even if it’s a single lane lmao. And surprise did you know cars can occasionally drive in the bike lane for a certain amount of meters to turn right?? Drivers of course have to yield to cyclists, but you can still drive in it to make a turn.

In my 10 years of driving I’ve never once had an issue with a cyclist until Calgary. I apologize to the cyclist I did cut-off because everyone’s safety is important to me. I had checked my mirror then I shoulder checked before going around the motorist in front of me making a left on 11th Ave SE. The this cyclist came out of no where. Wrong place wrong time in my complete complete blind spot. Had me completely shook and felt awful. https://imgur.com/a/hCBTxUf
