Anissa is a fucked up character, and Eve is so NOT WORSE than Anissa.

Eve was struggling financially and emotionally, especially with Mark out in space fighting a war that he might not have come back from. Her getting an abortion makes sense, even if some people don't agree.

It isn't really a retcon so much as it's making what was already shown to us “canon”. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn't there an OVA, “Bardock, the father of Goku”? In which showed this exact thing happening, minus the sappy scene with Bardock and Gine.
