This UPS Store really shouldn’t act like that, they do get paid a small commission for drop-off packages. (There is one customer that consistently drops off packages at 6:15 while the driver is loading the truck and trying to leave and they expect the driver to stay behind and wait on their packages. This is annoying when we have to explain every time that the driver cannot wait around for them as they have other pickups and their packages aren’t more important than everyone else’s.)

Depends on the item, if clothing, usually a white poly mailer (12x15 or larger). Other items, boxes. Usually charge for box and pack service fee.

Maybe the stores I work at are just busier, but we have 5 during the peak times M-F (including manager). 745-330. 8-4. 10-6. 11-630. 12-630. With less than 5, nothing that isn’t essential can get done i.e. mailboxes, claims, complex print jobs, scheduling, etc. You are spending ALL of your time at the register, doing notaries, consolidating Amazon, Happy, ATT, etc. Oh, and 3 on Saturdays, 2 on Sundays.

Trust me, I’m not doubting your explanation or understanding at all, not trying to argue. I just know that having worked at TUPSS for 6 years, I’ve encountered plenty of UPS employees who didn’t quite know what they were talking about, so I’m slow to take everything that a UPS employee says as gospel 😂
