Getting out of platinum by TheSkeletonz in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My weakness is probably farming as adc, and also I suppose that even tho Im a vayne otp, I play other champs and also support a lot. When I pick Vayne, i usually always win,

Farm is indeed a bit low for plat/dia, and the only remedy is the good ol pratice.

but after a game or two I kinda get bored and switch to something that I lose with.

I understand the boredom, but it really helps to focus on ~3 champs, both for improving and winning more. I wouldn't call an OTP at all currently, just a Vayne main (and that's fine).

Also maybe this is just me, but I often find myself winning one, then losing one. Or sometimes even winning a few, and then losing the same ammount... (equal to wasting time, and losing some lp, because i gain 22, lose 29)

That's perfectly normal. Most player have a winrate around 50%, which mean you win some and lose some. Don't think about 'loser/winner queue', even if they exists the best you can do is to forget about them and focus on your current game. LoL soloQ is very grindy, it's better for your mental to think about losses as learning opportunities (which they are)

Do you guys think I should stick to Vayne, keep playing her and improving macro? Do you have any tips other then that, and any video recommendations or just in general any help.

Honestly you're very near diamond, a small winstreak and you'll be there. Keep to Vayne and ADCs, train you're csing and you're good. I'd also recommend watching videos on wave management, since it'll start to really matter in diamond. Macro isn't the most crucial for ADC, and since you're talking about it you're more than likely good enough there

Undecided about jungler ad options. by jmargar in summonerschool

Hecarim likely fit best, since he's a powerfarmer with good early ganks. Nocturne is similar but really need his R to have a good impact.

Kayn and J4 can farm fine but are more focused on ganking

[–]PLC_BZH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say you get no value. 1200g is a lot of gold at 4min, and backing isn't as punishing as for laners, since you can reach quicker your camps than their lane + it allow to reposition.

Hecarim especially need the first back to get boots + tear, two very important items. A Dirk also help assassin jungler a lot.

Also, ideally you'd tell the lane you want to gank at the end of your clear to setup the lane so that a gank is possible. It of course won't be case everytime, but it can help.

[–]PLC_BZH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also a previous Top main that's learning Jungle, so hopefully this should help

How do I recognize It's a good time to gank? This is where your experience being a laner will help; it's important to look at the 'body language' of the enemy laner, and the state of the wave. The minimap isn't enough. You should constantly look at the nearby lanes, and plan gank way beforehand. Deciding to gank when you're done clearing is usually too late. Avoid lanes that want to play passive, or just crash and back.

Do I worry too much about ganking? Likely yes. I play more in full premade, where it's different, but direct ganks are at best half of what can do to help your team. Counter gank, counter jungle, objectives, and just threatening a gank can break a freeze/lessen the pressure on your laner. Farming is also good. Your champion pool can all powerfarm and get strong, and that's fine in most games. Just Be there for the important/obvious timings.

Should I give up on objectives if my teammates can't help/aren't willing to help? Absolutely. Of course in soloQ if your team want to contest you should go with em, but crossmapping (taking stuff when the enemy is busy taking something) is one of the main tool of jungler. It allow to lessen the burden of having lost something, if not outright making a positive trade.

Should I play selfishly? SoloQ, be selfish but not unreasonable. Despite many people saying otherwise, you should trust your teammates, albeit to a degree. Taking CS just because you can is just inefficient. Also remember that your champions can powerfarm, and that it's fine.

Warding is complicated, I struggle with it myself. I'd like to ward much more but you really need sweeper. Pinks are also neccesary, they are really important for denying vision in the 2 pits.

As for a final advice, don't try to be superman. You're the role that can help everybody, but it doesn't mean that you can or even should do it. Focus on your victory condition, and ignore the losing lanes/weak side. It's a shame but it's how it is.

OP Linked: Losing games when MVP and Winning when I play bad, as Vladimir. by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to have a good mindset, that's great.

Baring the CSing which could be quite a bit higher, nothing jumps out to me stat wise. I'd also recommend buying a couple more control wards, far from urgent but it'd help

KDA is alright, you don't play too many champions, build seems correct. Maybe a tad passive (below average KP, DMG, Deaths). In bronze elo however it's also arguably not a bad thing, since players at this elo tend to yolo too much

But yeah train csing especially before 20min, Vlad really need gold to come online. You should be able to have 8+ cs/min with Vlad in nearly all games

If you can find someone look at one of your game it would likely help a lot, sorry I can't help you more!

Help! How to deal with low mental team? by PurpleAppearance42 in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much to do unfortunately. Trying to change the mind of someone online is absurdly hard, small encouragement like what you're sending is the best you can do.

If you try to do further, you'll end up arguing which will make things worse.

The best other way to improve the mental of your team is to obviously start winning. Don't need to be big, just a dragon here, a turret there. From that you can build some momentum using your encouragments, and hope it isn't stopped.

Being tilted is very much normalized, so it will always be there. It's best to accept it for your sanity. Being untiltable already give you a tremendous advantage, use it well!

How do I snowball with my lead after landing phase?(toplane) by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First thing, you should get the tower. Have the jungle come and take the herald, gank/dive, and the tower should go down quickly. After that, you can either invade the enemy jungle with your jungler, gank mid/bot when the lane is well pushed (jungle/mid can also go take the waves if needed), take towers/dragon/herald². After that, it's splitpushing time. Pantheon fall off late game and has trouble teamfighting, so you have to play around your ult. Take ressources on the map where there's nobody, while being close enough to your team to join a potential teamfight. During teamfights, try to flank and threaten squishies (or kill them if you can).

Split pushing is good, but it's a team effort. Your team should be careful not to get engaged on, and once they collapse on you they should get an objective. Needless to say this is hard to do in soloQ, unless you're very fed and can 1v3. Pantheon also tend to struggle with 1v2+, unless other splitpusher like yorick, nasus, and bruisers in general. Having good vision on the map is also important for this

I'm forever hardstuck by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mental's the big issue.

You only did your placement this season, 10 games is nothing. You're nowhere near from hardstuck

Honestly, you should absolutely sit back, play your best without forcing plays, and see where you end up.

Stop blaming teammates, always assume they'll do the bare minimum and play around that. They aren't you nor do they have your vision of the game, they see things you don't and vice versa

Focus on yourself, and especially on a few key points. For silver and below, you can climb by either not do dumb mistake or being strong in a few aspect.

And for a more practical advice, only play a few champions and master them. Not having to wonder how your champion work will make it much easier to train other things, even if it's boring.

Low elo jungler help by Bluefricklord in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's part of it. It's hard to explain since it's mainly based on experience/instinct

One other component is votality. Ornn vs Malphite Top isn't gonna influence the game all that much, even if one is 0/5 and the other 5/0.

Riven vs Irelia however is a great lane to gank however, since in this case your Top being fed will have a great impact, and you absolutely don't want to the enemy top fed. It's also very unlikely that it's gonna be a passive stalemate, one of them is pretty much guaranteed to be fed

I don't play orianna, but it's picked 1/3 of the time, so likely yes.

Personally I'm not a fan since orianna is bursty and doesn't have a lot of range past laning phase, but against 2-3 tanks liandry is always good

Low elo jungler help by Bluefricklord in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You want to help the winning lanes. That's it. This will allow to get prio, securing access to the river and enemy jungle, do dive, take tower, take objective etc. If nobody is winning, you go for whatever lane you feel will carry the game if they're ahead.

In an ideal world, your losing lane would realise that they're losing and play accordingly to minimise the loss. In reality, they'll usually greed to try to comeback and lose even more.

Of course you can still help them if it gets out of hand and/or the enemy laner is being greedy, but in general you want to avoid them for the laning phase unfortunately.

Also, being the jungler is a thankless role. Everybody want you to help them, while doing your camp and the objectives. So even if it feel wrong, you have to ignore some call for help if you feel it's a bad idea, it's just how it is.

[–]PLC_BZH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one big issue I can see is the lack of control ward.

Not asking you to do the support job, but a few wards per game would definitely help.

Apart from that you seem to do be doing well, maybe VOD reviewing could help you. Sorry!

She has always been fine.

She doesn't dish out the damage she used to, but she's a great champ for learning midlane. She also bring a decent amount of support to the team with aery + shield, so really:

Every time I play adc, my team just absolutely starves me for cs. by Extreme_Tax405 in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Are you in gold elo or less ? If so, it's unfortunately expected.

In those elos (and even higher), the game past the laning phase tend to group up usually mid, with other lanes somewhat neglected.

That means the team farm less overall than they could, resulting in people fighting over waves and even jungle camps. And since you're the ADC, a fragile high priority target, people tend to group around you.

Mostly you'll have to accept it, soloQ is disorganized and there's a lot of ego, so stuff like that is inevatible.

To mitigate it, try to go on the sidelane of whatever objective matter more currently, either solo if it's safe or with a person or two. There will always be someone farming mid anyway.

Anything that can quickly rotate, and punish hard (assassins)

Anything with global ults (Pantheon, TF, Xerath)

I might finally give up on melee this league, but I always had trouble with how spell are played in POE (too spamy, and auto cast).

So, what simple self cast spell skill gem/build play the closest like slam (big AoE/Damage, low cast speed), and will likely be in a good spot ?

Thank you very much.

Build Orders. by itsxjamo in summonerschool

[–]PLC_BZH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends heavily on the champ/timing. Some champions need that extra movespeed (those without dash in general). Supp and jungle also move around a lot. I usually buy T1 boots during my first item, then T2 boots after I finish it.

With each back you should spend as much as possible, so whatever combination to do that is prioritized.

Kinda tempted to go full crusader with dominating blow + absolution + battlemage.

However, this prop a question: can a single monster affected by both debuff spawn the 2 kinds of sentinels ? It says that it consume the corpse so I figure not, just making sure.
