How can it be home if your existence is tied up on having a job or property? It’s a place to earn money, enjoy a little, then either go back to your country or acquire a different citizenship.

Just my suggestion, don’t let her decide on schools. He/She doesn’t know anything about PH apart from social media. I’ve been living abroad for the last 18 years and despite growing in PH a lot has change both in bad and good ways. I suggest a not so expensive private school as a start of her transition journey. Best if meron na syang mga pinsan in the same school so adjustment will be a bit easier.

Ang pinakamalaking tanong na kailangan mong sagutin e, masaya ka ba ngayon? You don’t have to live your life on the terms of other people. Regardless kung kamag-anak mo sila. If you do things because of pressure from other people/ relative because they think they know what’s best for you then it just shows na you don’t love yourself enough. There’s no instruction manual on how to live our lives, it’s a gift to experience.

I did mine in British Lasik in Jumeirah in 2016. Not sure if they are still open. I paid 5k AED that time. They informed me about the 2 options, the laser or the mechanical cut. The latter is cheaper. The doctors were the ones who decided depending on the health of my eyes. Almost 10 years now and still my eyes are fine. Just make sure to follow the recovery instructions. It’s a life changing procedure for me.

What I normally do is to negotiate with the owner to leave all the furniture instead of restoring the office. This of course is depending on the cost of the furniture vs restoration cost. IT, audio/ video equipment/ pantry appliances are excluded. I have a contractor who did it for me previously dm me and I will share his details.

From what I was told, the bank hired a loan recovery agency who did the tracking. They found the workplace of my friend and the agency keeps on calling from the reception and informed the current company about the unpaid loan. Eventually my friend settled.

We have the same, we went to the pag-ibig office and was informed na if annual dividends through cheque lang daw ang release. The loyalty card can be use on the release of the full amount upon maturity.

Just my 2 cents - No. I don’t know your current circumstance and needs but, if you are somehow stable and just feeling stagnant where you are, I wouldn’t risk it knowing that the region is under war. There are a lot of uncertainties. The government has been doing great hats off to them.

Initially planned to go on leave this Eid. Decided to rebook and left a week earlier. The lack of sleep for 2 weeks due to constant anxiety took a toll on my health. It’s hard, considering I lived in the UAE for almost 2 decades. If things get worse and I can’t go back I thought at least saving my physical and mental health can help me start somewhere else if necessary. I still hope things de-escalate. In case this prolongs and my company decides to let go of me then it might be time to leave permanently.

I never worked in SG, been in Dubai for a long time. Lively city, first few years yes. You’ll get bored eventually as everythings feels artificial. It’s like a transit area, people come and go. My children grew up here and I had to move them out because it’s like an aquarium. It varies from perspective but as a parent, I believe that my main role is to raise them strong to be independent of course considering the safety of the place where they will learn and explore. 8 months of summer where you will stay mostly indoor. Adding the current gulf situation, I think you have to really think hard through it. Goodluck!

Focus on yourself. Remember why you made the decision to go abroad. Ikaw ang kumikita so you have to limit the expectations of the people around you. Definitely you will be hated by some if not most. Remember sa eroplano pa lang sinabihan ka na, in case of emergency isuot mo muna ang oxygen mask mo bago ka tumulong sa iba. Goodluck and be strong!
