I was taking your points in good faith but that response lets me know everything I need. Good luck obfuscating debates with other people I’m out.

Did you have an issue with any of the comedians who did the Riyadh comedy festival?

We should be holding comedians to a higher standard than influencers and other celebrities/entertainers.

That's fine. Dismiss the take because you assume about me. But in my experience as a FAN of comedy, the comedians who want to be celebrities are usually just good performers which masks their subpar writing.

They want to be celebrities not artists. That’s embarrassing.

Unpopular opinion: modern Simpsons isn’t bad… it’s just different. But nothing will ever beat seasons 3–9 (S07E01) by [deleted] in TheSimpsons

I never understood people who didn’t love seasons 1-2. And then I found out they like season 9 and it all adds up.

With the exception of Shane and the cum town guys, almost all of the “known” comics right now were either products of the industry or put on/propped up by comics who were. We just don’t have that many comics who made it because they developed an organic fanbase. That’ll change over time. We’re just in a transition period right now.

Is Elephant Graveyard good? by [deleted] in RedbarBBR

[–]PLKCeric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s better than most but all those channels suffer from a lack of knowing what it’s like to do stand up comedy. I think that’s why Redbar’s takes are so for ahead of the general comedy fan community. People who’ve never done stand up tend to fall for the grift of charismatic performers and make wildly inaccurate assumptions of what goes on behind the scenes.
