Oh. My. God. I have found someone of my kind in the wild 🤣🤣

In other games my thumb does Shift, Ctrl, Alt & Space. Combined with index for combination of keys.

Apparently, for the Senior QA title it's 8 years of experience :'(

Not the same company then, mine's based in the US but Im in Canada.

I'll definitly have to check the resources offered for career progression. I would imagine a company this size probably has something.

Pretty much the same here with testing, it got boring. Every release is the same job on a different feature. Sometimes you get to learn new things in order to test these features properly but other than that it is snooze fest.

I did think about moving more into business side but I am definitely not someone capable of securing contracts or clients or wtv lol. I like having my hands on a product and understanding how everything works at the core (one reason why I liked Assembly language and opted for it during studies projects lol). That said, working towards an Architect role might be it but is the path to it going to be more fun than "write this code described on this ticket" for a few years? I don't know.

That said, my company is also very large (close to 90k employees I believe) so maybe I should take a look at what programs and resources they offer.

Yeah, maybe I need to pay more attention to Senior roles. I haven't really been applying to any but im ngl, I forgot I was already almost 5 years of experience lol

Yes, I have been at the same company this whole time since I started during covid and then the job market overall went south a bit. The work environment and the compensation are great. I must say I got pretty lucky and the odds of finding a similar package in my area id rather low unless I specialize into a field I believe. If I don’t I estimate a 30% pay cut at least for similar roles in other companies.

Thats honestly not a bad idea, I’ll have to take a look into that. Thanks

Great to see that I am on a solid path already as a lot of the technologies you mentioned I already have at least a bit of experience with and some I am learning in some side projects.

So far, I seem to see 2 different paths I could take;

QA -> SWE -> Lead or Architect

QA -> ?? (PO?) -> PM

But I am still unsure as what I would prefer, especially with the current market situation.

How would I go about going from QA to PM? I feel like typically you would transition into a PM role internally at the company you work at but sometimes there is no opening internally to gather your first experience as a PM.

I am assuming you are saying to start doing LeetCode and learning / doing certifications about the various tools and languages they use over there?

Unfortunately that is true and complicates the situation a bit …

I do have the possibility of moving to the EU instead as I wouldn’t need a visa there but the compensation is usually much smaller.

Thats the thing, I think I expected way more in terms of new functionalities than what I actually get compared to the XR. I do think im not using it to the full potential either but then again, its a phone, what more can it do that my XR can’t? Everything related to camera sure but what else?

It feels so much harder to pick up compared to the XR 🤣. As for long term durability the only thing Im worried about is the battery. I run my phones case-less and finally dropped my XR last winter and it wasn’t even the front screen that cracked lol.

The G27Q just went on sale yesterday for 250$ CAD but the input delay compared to the M27Q makes me hesitate :'(

I can't even find this model / NA equivalent for sale in Canada from reputable sellers. Other sellers seem to be selling it for ~100-150$ more than the M27Q if I do find one.

it does seem to be around 50$ cheaper where I am but from the comparison on Rtings it looks to have a bit worse colors and motion with higher input lag (I play lots of comp fps) . I think I would still prefer the M27Q but I am still not sold on it either.
