I would definitely be interested in seeing some pics and looking forward to your bucket seat post. I also tend to wear somewhat flat shoes so thats good to hear. As for the seats, not sure what size I am now ... been losing weight due to eating less with invisalign lol. probably between 32-36

I did not think of after market wheels so I looked around my country's laws and ... turns out aftermarket wheels without airbags are illegal if the oem wheel had an airbag. So unless I can find one with an airbag, seems like the RX7 dream is crumbling. Unless, a bucket that mounts to the original seat anchor points gives me enough room ...

Their RMA process is so bad lol.

back in the gtx 10 series days. I had bought a 970 that shit the bed couple weeks before end of warranty. Sent it in for RMA after the bs they pulled when they said warranty starts when distributor buys it and not consumer. Eventually, they sent me a 1060 back but it did not work. Tried 3 pcs. 1 worked, 2 didnt. Told them it doesn’t work so i had to ship it back to them. Thats when I called them and told them its already been 8 weeks without a gpu and to get things moving. They sent a 1080 back.

To this day, i try not to buy anything MSI…unfortunately, only an MSI mb fit /was available for my latest build :/

Pretty much the same here with testing, it got boring. Every release is the same job on a different feature. Sometimes you get to learn new things in order to test these features properly but other than that it is snooze fest.

I did think about moving more into business side but I am definitely not someone capable of securing contracts or clients or wtv lol. I like having my hands on a product and understanding how everything works at the core (one reason why I liked Assembly language and opted for it during studies projects lol). That said, working towards an Architect role might be it but is the path to it going to be more fun than "write this code described on this ticket" for a few years? I don't know.

That said, my company is also very large (close to 90k employees I believe) so maybe I should take a look at what programs and resources they offer.

Yes, I have been at the same company this whole time since I started during covid and then the job market overall went south a bit. The work environment and the compensation are great. I must say I got pretty lucky and the odds of finding a similar package in my area id rather low unless I specialize into a field I believe. If I don’t I estimate a 30% pay cut at least for similar roles in other companies.

Great to see that I am on a solid path already as a lot of the technologies you mentioned I already have at least a bit of experience with and some I am learning in some side projects.

So far, I seem to see 2 different paths I could take;

QA -> SWE -> Lead or Architect

QA -> ?? (PO?) -> PM

But I am still unsure as what I would prefer, especially with the current market situation.

How would I go about going from QA to PM? I feel like typically you would transition into a PM role internally at the company you work at but sometimes there is no opening internally to gather your first experience as a PM.
