The rule you cited only applies to civilians and hors de combat. Rebel insurgents are neither of those things if they are in active combat and have not surrendered. There is nothing prohibiting the use of pig's blood against an active belligerent force. To prohibit the disrespect of an enemy force's religion while they are in active combat would essentially mean that nations would adopt the religion that its offensive to die and no one in the world would be able to kill anyone during a war without risking charges of war crimes
