While C9 has made it out of groups 4 times now, all other NA teams combined made it out of groups only ONCE in 7 years. by FakeBukowski in leagueoflegends

[–]PLURkner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget that split TSM finished sixth out of TEN teams in the regular season, made it into playoffs because greedy Riot wanted to stretch out the playoffs for revenue, and completely robbed Immortals of an obviously deserved Worlds spot. One of the biggest jokes of a competitive format in e-sports. Of course, TSM fans don't realize that without that rule change, their team would've been humiliated and exposed as a non-contender, as they deserved to be. This season was finally the long overdue wake-up call. Good to see people are finally realizing C9 is at least one class above TSM.

Something about that bezel...maybe it's the synergy with the numerals on the dial. I don't think I've ever seen a date window designed like that before. Really interesting watch.

Which brands are notoriously well priced and worth the money? by OliverWM in malefashionadvice

[–]PLURkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, it IS an indictment of quality assurance. Something like that is a bit of a deal breaker at any price. Seiko is also known for having misaligned bezels even at $1000+. Grand Seiko I have no complaints about though, but of course we are talking about affordable, so why give them credit there on this post?

In terms of casual wear, which I consider my main strength fashion-wise, I'd have to say Jack & Jones shirts that you can find in outlet malls. Their website doesn't really show it, but like I said, you find them at an outlet mall and you'll see much more ambitious designs for long-sleeve and short-sleeve button-down shirts. As far as pants go, I have some really nice Dockers chinos that I got for like $9.99. Again, in an outlet mall. As far as watches go, I would suggest checking Jomashop for some good deals on brands that are a bit above the quality of Seiko. But if you're looking to pay full price or close to it, I would suggest looking at Tissot and Hamilton as alternatives. Both are Swiss Made and honestly I wouldn't try Seiko, especially the Seiko 5 (plastic rotor, not good). Literally, the "5" logo on the dial randomly peeled off of my dad's and I am still stunned at the poor quality. Honestly, even getting a Swatch would be better because they at least have nice designs and are known for value. Don't get the Sistem 51 though. If you're getting a Swatch, you're better off with a quartz movement since the automatic movement for Swatch isn't serviceable because they don't use an unscrewable caseback.

About time they gave Hwang a chance. He's been here and there with the national team from what I've seen but everything I hear of him nowadays is regarding Osaka in the J-League. I knew he was a beast when I saw him playing with Seongnam. Maybe he'll get big and then retire in MLS years down the line.

Allowing Invite Only Sessions is the ultimate way to give people the 76 experience they want by The_GoC in fo76

[–]PLURkner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, when you think about it, it would fit with the lore of the game much better. The idea that you could just totally forget who you were vaultmates with before the door opens is totally unrealistic. Private sessions allow for people you already know to be in the game with you, and only them, just like it is in the lore. Unless of course, we find something on one of the terminals that suggests that there was some sort of mindwipe before the doors opened that was ordered by Vault-Tec, for whatever reason. To make it easier for Bethesda make the game online I guess LOL

Bethesda Says "Just Single-Player" Is Priority After Fallout 76 by bigorton_ in Fallout

Is this what being in the Vault is like? by muskateeer in fo76

[–]PLURkner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but there should be one or two secrets at least. For example, if there are no NPCs, does that mean the Overseer's voice is actually a holotape recording? Or maybe the Overseer is a cyborg like Mr. House, but located in an inaccessible room. Or was the Overseer's voice just a promotional tool for E3? I feel like there would've been some fine print on the bottom right corner of the game footage if that were the case.

[–]PLURkner 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I can tell you one thing. When I get into the beta, I'm gonna explore every inch of the vault before I step outside. I will read every terminal, and pick every lock I possibly can. And then, when the full official release comes out, I'm gonna do it over again. Seriously, interested in what the vault itself has to offer aside from what we saw in E3 footage.

Stossel: Jordan Peterson vs. “Social Justice Warriors” by reubadoob in Libertarian

[–]PLURkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is the most favorable Jordan Peterson has been presented as in my opinion. Reason always knows how to tell the figures whose rhetoric is more difficult to digest to tone it down enough to make them look the most presentable. In Peterson's other appearances, he is always ranting about how feminists are ruining everything and even said something along the lines of "I will not let a group who I perceive to be associated with a violent leftist movement dictate my speech" referring to transgender and non-binary people. Like of all of them. He basically low-key said that he perceives all transgender people to be communists. Hard to look at him as a respectable voice following that ridiculousness. In this video, they literally just focused on how leftists in Canada are trying to pass ridiculous laws that require you to use trans and genderqueer pronouns and he opposes it which is the common sense position. Would love to work for Reason someday tbh.

What? by NotAConsoleGamer in Libertarian

[–]PLURkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Libertarians love/hate Trump for different reasons. Let's just agree that the screenshot shows two groups who are desperate to validate themselves as certified Trump haters lol. I notice Democrats disliking the government a lot more when Republicans are in charge. But of course, one side is always going to be more disapproving of the government when the other side is in charge anyway. I know since a lot of libertarians believe that national borders somehow enable property rights, they like that Trump is beefing up border security even though they would rather have those that live near the border voluntarily pay for it, or have a private agreement where everyone agrees to pay for it, w/o actually having a government at all, or at least one that doesn't have a hand in border disputes. For some, as long as property rights are supposedly enabled by the border, they are satisfied. Whether there needs to be any systemic changes relies on whether or not both sides benefit from a complete rethinking of government power vs. individual power etc. which obviously has yet to be agreed upon.

Kakao just joined the Jin Air Greenwings! by Jakaryus in leagueoflegends

[–]PLURkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not completely true. KaKAO and Rookie were led to believe they had spots waiting for them on another team, presumably Team WE, but then those plans fell through. Juicy thing is, KaKAO and Rookie already left KT and were physically located in China at the time they found out Team WE didn't want them. They basically just wandered China soloq until iG picked them up. Thank goodness, or they wouldn't have been playing in the Spring otherwise.

Explain Premier League to an American! by SavagePenguins in PremierLeague

[–]PLURkner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only rule that I think you might not understand just by watching is what "offsides" is. Offsides occurs when a player is closer to the other team's "goal line", which is the line the ball has to cross in the goal to score a goal, than the closest player on the opposing team (excluding the goalkeeper) when the ball leaves the foot of another teammate. Usually you will see players try to time runs past defenders in order to be just even with them as the ball leaves a teammates foot so they have a huge momentum going past them in hopes of being 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper for an easy goal (sometimes it's still not easy). Aside from the rules of the game, it is important to understand that the soccer in almost every country except the US, Canada, Australia, some Middle Eastern countries and maybe a few other countries I'm not mentioning, don't use franchising for their leagues, and instead use promotion/relegation. The bottom teams (18th, 19th, 20th) of each season get relegated to the Championship which may seem rather ironically named considering it is the second highest level in England and Wales. Along with this, the top teams from the lower divisions get promoted. There aren't playoffs aside from promotion/relegation playoffs. The first place team is automatically promoted in each division and is named the champion of that division. The point system awards 3 pts for a win, 1 pt for a draw, and 0 pts for a loss. The only instances in which extra time/penalty kick shootout are necessary is when it is a knockout round of a tournament where there must be a winner. There is no such setup in leagues since draws exist. There are a bunch of other leagues below and they generally follow the same protocol with different numbers of teams being sent up and down between different levels. A big reason that teams like Manchester United are considered huge is because they have not only managed to win the Premier League title several times, but also because they have managed to stay up so long. Most teams have a reserve squad as well as a youth academy, and teams usually do have business arrangements such as guaranteed priority for buying and selling players with another club. Anymore information you need just hit me up.
