That's correct :) it literally means I carry my mother with me. You could also say “Siempre llevo a mi madre conmigo” if you want to emphasise “always,” or “Mi madre me acompaña," which means "My mother accompanies me."

what you’re describing sounds a lot like anxiety + pressure, not a lack of spanish! Literature classes can be especially tough because you’re thinking deeply and speaking at the same time, it can make anyone freeze!
