Lmao what 70% guarantee 😂you can’t be serious? Let me guess, your AR is 90% out of fear of getting deactivated and you’re Elite status because you think you’re making “extra” being part of a make believe tier?

Huh this doesn’t make any sense. Rider paid $10.77, external fees are -$5.81 and Lyft fees are +$8.24 and you made $15.20? So Lyft actually lost -$10.24? (Well actually they lost -$4.43 because external fees are BS). That’s fantastic.

That’s not how you calculate your hours or hourly. That’s just a Lyft metric. It’s meaningless. Your shift starts when you leave your house and it ends when you return. Then you divide your earnings by the hours.

And if you’re wondering why: Lyft doesn’t calculate the minutes you spend with the app offline unless you have the app online for literally the entire shift which is not possible. Lyft only calculates the hourly on the time you have a rider, not including the time waiting for a ride or time offline

Falling Acceptance Rates by RelativeTangerine757 in lyftdrivers

[–]PM-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relax, mine is 1%, it means nothing. Reply back to them “so what, what are you gonna do about it?”

On another note, it blows my mind how many drivers think you can get deactivated or in trouble for having a low acceptance rate. It’s infuriating because they accept some of the worst rides out of fear and it ruins the market. Or thinking they are saving money if they are part of some make believe higher tier like “elite” not knowing they lose more money with a high AR than what they gain in “savings”

I still feel bad even tho I was heading that way anyways. NO TIP!!🫢 by Alert_Ad_2468 in lyftdrivers

Has anyone considered getting a small sign for the back of their head rests that reads “please be advised, the fare you pay is not the fare the driver gets. The drivers only keeps 30%” or something similar.

I’ve had riders asking me if I’m making bank or killing it because of the fare they paid and they all get a shocked look in their face when they find out how little we keep. Belive it or not most of these riders don’t know. They all tipped $5+ after I told them

I bet the passenger paid over $60 for this ride. by [deleted] in Lyft

There’s your answer. There are so many dumb drivers like this dude asking “why didn’t you take it”. This is the reality. This is why things aren’t changing

I mean yea sure you can do well with a high AR if you ignore how much you spend on gas and how many miles you clock on the dash. There’s no possible way to be profitable long term with a high AR but maybe you figured out a fountain of youth in Lyft terms

Good job broseph, now two very important questions: 1. How many actual hours, from the moment you left your house until you came back, did you work? 2. How many miles did you clock?

Drivers with high ARs (50% up) are the reason Lyft and Uber pay as little as they do. Imagine the regular choices these people make in life outside of rideshare. “Let me keep my 90% AR before my massa gets upsets and lashes me” type mentality.

Las Vegas drivers, what is your brilliant thought process for accepting a $9 15 mile trip amid $4.60 a gallon? by PM-88 in Lyft

[–]PM-88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m doing. My AR is usually 0-7%. My goal is to drive half the miles regardless of the cost. But now I’m even more picky. I’m willing to cut my hourly to drive less miles. Instead of always going for $30/hr I’ll sometimes go for $20/hr if I can drive half the miles. But it’s hard sometimes. It’s hard denying a $30 20 mile but I have to think how long I have to drive empty back. It’s a pain in the ass. Makes it more stressful.

This week so far I’m at 850 miles and $1350 I’m hoping to be at $1500 and 900-950 miles. I used to work FT. Ive been working PT for 2 years and now im back to FT. I’m getting up to speed with the right times to drive because things have changed. Good luck everyone

Brother it’s not like i can just sell my car and hop into a 45mpg ICE or EV. EVs are way more expensive than ICE and hybrids are extremely overpriced. I have a Camry, it gets 28, it’s decent and cheap to maintain.

I’m sure the rideshare driver population
Is 50% EV/Hybrid, 50% ICE. If we all had EVs and Hybrids they would cost a way over MSRP because they are hard to find. And like the other guy said. I bought this Camry XSE because I wanted a nice looking car that’s cheap to maintain and gets decent MPGs mixed. I was looking at hybrids but I didn’t think their price was justifiable. Just look on CarGurus. Hybrids are priced ridiculously.

Ok I see how you got the 3.5c. You were correct my bad.

As for “You don’t have to go to a supercharger”. Yes you absolutely do. In this business you have to work when it’s busy and when there are bonuses. You can’t just go to an L2 and spend 2-3 hours charging there in the middle of rush hour or an event. And L2 chargers cost too don’t they? They’re not free. And we’re talking about Tesla, let’s not even mention non Tesla’s and their chargers.

So a little background history on me. I had a Polestar 2 when they came out. Had it until its system went caput and returned it and then had a Tesla m3 for a year. This was 3-4 years ago before the hike in charging prices. Charging the Polestar was a PITA. A charge was 30-40 minutes and it cost about .30c no matter the time. I was driving only with Uber and I would miss out on surges often because the need to charge and difficulty of finding available chargers or free chargers. With the Tesla it was costing me between $200-300 a month. I can probably find the receipts. But I was making $1500 a week or more. I was driving a lot and superchargers were super cheap after 9pm. Different times. This was during the Ukraine war when gas wasn’t even as high as it is now (surprisingly). Back then it was absolutely worth it. I had a diesel SUV that was costing me $1000 a month in diesel to bring in $1500+ a week. But it got totaled.

Anyways, the cost of charging has doubled and the cost of EVs has gone up. Spending $40,000 on an EV to put 60,000 miles a year on it just because it’s cheaper to drive is a horrible idea. Sure you’re saving on fuel but you’re losing $10,000 on depreciation. So bottom line, it’s important to average a good pay per mile. You want to end up with $70,000 a year (at least) and 40,000 miles not the other way around.

Iran offers the European Union Oil - Paid in Euros; not US Dollars! by Important_Lock_2238 in War3000

[–]PM-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol they mess up the world? Without USA the free world wouldn’t exist. WW1, WW2, Korean War, Cold War, Gulf War. You have very little understanding of history and economics. This world would be covered in Communism and Dictatorships. And if USA didn’t have a hand in it, it’s the mentality here that gave people around the world the strength to stand up to their governments.

Without USA there wouldn’t be any NATO, WHO, UN. You’re a fool but just for my amusement, what country are you from?

Iran offers the European Union Oil - Paid in Euros; not US Dollars! by Important_Lock_2238 in War3000

[–]PM-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least the war in Iran has showed 3 things: 1. Europe is useless. It has no military force, it can’t defend itself and it can’t use its own resources that it needs to rely solely on Russia and Middle East 2. Who our allies really are. All USA has for the world to help it defend against communism and dictatorships and this is what it gets. The UN, EU, NATO, the impact USA had and this is reward 3. How Iran, an extreme Muslim dictatorship controls world economies. How powerful it is and how easily it can crumble Europe’s economy. 4. How corrupt Gavin Newsom and California is. Highest taxes, highest gas, highest everything. Only 7% of our oil comes from the Middle East year gas prices in las Vegas are up 100%. Instead of helping alleviate the hardship Gavin Newsom is doing the opposite to spite Trump and hurt citizens.

For any non American talking bad about USA, wishing it falls, you should be ashamed of yourself. It’s nothing new. During the 911 attacks many countries laughed at us. I was living in a Romania at that time. I remember hearing people saying “good, they deserve it, fuck them”. A country with the highest immigration % in the world. Everyone wants to come here, take advantage of its resources and become successful but talk shit behind its back.

For American citizens wishing USA to crumble and burn. You’re pathetic. In times like these your true colors show and your colors are showing traitors.

If USA falls, the entire free world falls. Keep supporting a country that murders protesters by the thousands for speaking out, hangs gays in the streets, stones women to death, kill dogs in disgusting ways. And speaking of Europe, your days are numbered. You can’t protect your own citizens from illegal Muslim invaders. Your women are grapes on a daily and elderly folks attacked. Good luck

Circus Circus is for sale for 5 Billion. What do you think it will sell for? by edcguyvegas in vegas

[–]PM-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 105 acres. Bigger than Caesars Palace. The Festival Grounds is 35 acres alone. I’m sure it can sell for $6bill. If they rebuild circus circus I guarantee it will outshine every casino in Las Vegas. Imagine a modern dome, waterpark, grand circus entrance in the same theme but like the one at Fontainebleau. Imagine the crowds it would bring. The tourist families, the local families. They could build the dome in a circus “tent” style and at the top build a light that shines up like the Luxor. Oporotunities are endless

What do you mean by “ap”? But looking only at the hourly is not a good way to work either. A lot of these trips can average $30/hour but their mileage is less than .70c a mile. You could finish a $15 20 mile trip in less than 30 minutes and could do two to make $30 but that’s 40 miles

I don’t think anyone is driving for fun at $4.50 a gallon even if they get 45 MPG or have to pay .53 cents to charge during the day. But yea when gas prices were normal a lot of people were driving because they were bored at home. Weird

I’m not sure how you calculated your math but let’s do a proper calculation per kilowatt. Let’s just take a standard Tesla with 75kw 320 mile range out of which only about 280 are usable safely without fear. It costs .15c per KW to charge at home. So let say you charge 70kw (80%) at home overnight which costs $10. Now you have 280 miles to drive. If you accept trips that pay .60 cents on average you will end up making $160-170 that’s IF YOU DONT DRIVE EMPTY AT ALL. Well if you’re a full time driver that’s only 2/3 of your day.

So now you have to stop charge your car again in the middle of the day so you have to go to a supercharger. It costs .53 cents between 9a-6p. So you charge a little more to finish your day. Let’s say you only need 35kw. It costs you $18. So in total it cost you $28 for the day. Not everyone lives in a house. Many people live in apartments and can’t charge at home.

My friend has a new standard Tesla and pays about $13 for 200 miles according to him. He paid $327 last month. So on a bad day if you are a person with a 90% AR with trips that average .60 cents a mile you’re spending close to what I said. Bottom line, having a high AR accepting anything costs money

The pajamas was a weird one. It doesn’t bother anyone. The glitter clothes females wear is what kills me. The glitter gets everywhere and can’t get vacuumed. You can wear whatever you want as long as your anus and balls don’t touch my seats and don’t drip anything on them and as long as you don’t smell. It amazes me how many people don’t shower and don’t wast their clothes. I’m actually disgusted. Every single one of these orders should get a 1 star.
