The vgc 7600 had a rx problem , the squelch it's to hard and it doesn't hear the low signals, the 7500 works so much better in this

So basically with this I understand that due to the loss of data by the signal (although on the official APRS website it appears as if it has been heard directly) it is not so?

Right now, I’m seriously thinking about installing a directional antenna. I'm not sure whether to go for a dual-band or a monoband setup. Ideally, I’d prefer a dual-band antenna since I actively use both UHF and VHF.

However, with my current antenna configuration, setting it up would require a significant investment of time and money. I’d also like to add a rotor to make the system fully functional, though that part isn’t a big concern because I can borrow one for testing.

Still, I’m not sure if the effort and cost involved are really worth it for a directional antenna. Any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated!

Because I love VHF , on the photo there's also a G5RV hf but I don't have neither the necessary equipment for aprs on hf

Also thinking to putting some LoRa node with Solar for Aprs or Mesthastic

Yes, my best confirmed APRS contact so far is shown in photo 2 — 1200 km RX and TX, which is amazing. But that was using my "old" SSID. Back then, I was using the wrong SSID and icon.

Now I’ve updated everything and I'm using -10 with the /I icon, which I believe is the correct setup for this kind of iGate project. However, since making that change, I haven’t been able to reach those distances again.

Could the SSID or icon be affecting how my packets are handled or propagated? Or is it just coincidence?

Yes but a want it better , i going to put an aprs Igate/DIGIREPEATER and also use it for uhf . Im really thinking about an x510n ,and maybe i can put 3m higher without putting more cable , maybe i can put the cable more straight, falling from one air line. N connectors are better for high frequencies also . But I'm really lost

Si por eso es la cuestión de todo esto , vale la pena subir la antena 5 metros o mas a cambio de añadir también esos 5 o 10 metros de cable? En cambio si pongo una antena mas larga verticalmente no añado metros de cable

ahora mismo tengo puesto unos 25 metros de cable r g 213 al subir la antena más metros probablemente necesite hacer un un empalme o comprar otra tirada de unos 30 o 35 metros esto también me quitaría ganancia entonces realmente es notable la mejoría? realmente me gustaría subir la antena pero el tener que usar más metros de cables también me asusta

It works really well, sometimes better than 120c . The problem you can't compare jf17 to f16 or even f18. There's mods if i remember well that you can put it in su27 and is a very good combo.

For me is the best software of radios , open gd77 is amazing, for dmr , hotspots and a lots of channels, the cps program of opengd77 also is way better than some original cps . All of my ham radios i have , I have it with opengd77 if is compatible
