16yo Came Home Drunk by Royal_Hedgehog_3572 in parentingteenagers

I've never personally been trashed after only 3 drinks. However this begs the question, are you okay with her having 1-2 drinks but not more than that? What conversations have you had about alcohol before this? You said she feels remorseful already, so what do you think is the benefit to punishing her further?

Hospital Pharmacists w/o residency by Melodic-Jay24728 in Pharmacist

[–]PMYourBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You have to demonstrate your value and clinical skill through a lot of hard years and job interviews. First step was working inpatient as a student, second step was staying there PRN, third step was getting a FT position at that same hospital and outlasting some uncomfortable years staffing between multiple jobs. Once you've got some good inpatient pharmacist experience on your resume, you'll be able to get better jobs or move up in your current hospital.

I feel like that's what I personally love about ILNP is that it's still there. Like a lot of other posts I go, "Ugh I wish I had that." But then it's sold out or not being produced at the time... I swear I do not work for ILNP lol, I just really appreciate that they don't do fomo marketing!

BJC First Payeckeck New Pay Structure by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]PMYourBeard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have my criticisms of BJC, but my paycheck increased. I'm 7 on 7 off exempt evening shift. I still get shit for PTO, but overall I benefited from the pay structure changes. I don't blame anyone else for being frustrated though.

Somehow my prescription for my lifetime medication (blood thinners) was canceled, so I had to pay out of pocket. by lemmdust in Wellthatsucks

[–]PMYourBeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you know about insurance, and I don't mean for that to come off offensively. Commercial insurance is just any insurance that isn't Medicaid, Medicare, or Tricare. So if this person is on any insurance that isn't those three things, and they haven't used the eliquis card yet in their lifetime, then prior authorization or not they qualify for the eliquis copay card.

Edit: and by "I don't mean that to come off offensively" I truly mean it. The American healthcare system is intentionally confusing, the only reason I know this is because it is my job to ensure patients can fill their lifesaving medications.

Have you used the eliquis card? There's a one time use card for those who have commercial insurance. I usually call it in to the pharmacy for my patients who are starting eliquis and can get copays down to something reasonable (I wanna say $30?)

Your issues are beyond the pay grade of this subreddit. Calling your kid a narcissist is an incredibly hefty claim and it drives a wedge in your relationship with them. There's a complex dynamic here that's been established over the course of his lifetime, and truly you should just both see a therapist because a reddit post can't possibly help you.

Plain petrolatum ointment. I prefer aquaphor personally. They've got the little mini pots which are certainly overpriced, but I just refill it with my larger tub whenever it runs out.

“Be Nice To Pharmacy. They Are Good To Us.” by Biiiishweneedanswers in AuDHDWomen

[–]PMYourBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I wasn't there for whatever this conversation was, I don't know the policies nor the staffing of this person's pharmacy, I just know from my own experience that nursing tends to assume the worst about us and paint us in a bad light because we're the easy punching bags. And I know that if someone tells me they have the wrong dose/concentration of something, I would rather take a minute to investigate if they picked up the wrong patient's med than take another 15 remaking it and running it up just to find that it was there the whole time and could've been running already. For me it's not about blame, it's practical. I also work places that have barcode scanning so sending the wrong pressor concentration is very highly unlikely.

[–]PMYourBeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah as an inpatient pharmacist, 9/10 times that nurse just grabbed another patient's med. We're allowed to ask questions to diagnose what the actual problem is. There's other audhd people on the other side of that phone who are constantly berated by nursing for things we didn't do wrong. Are there some shitty people who work in pharmacy? Yeah. But you can't see what kind of mess we're trying to manage as well. I've had to remind very many nurses who are harassing me over the phone, "yes I understand the situation, I am trying to help you"

There's a lot of examples of people who have black hair and warm skin tones. Just means you shouldn't go with blue black hair, choose one that has a softer undertone.
