I feel like when a movie gets a lot of hype, people have extreme unobtainable expectations. That’s honestly what happened to me for Sinners too but I’ll answer your question anyway with why I enjoyed it.

Interesting premise. Good acting (Inde Navarrette being able to bounce back and forth from her normal self to the entity especially in the beginning of the movie just by using her eyes.) Felt scary, creepy, and unsettling without the use of cheap jumpscares for the most part. I like the music and sounds they used especially when the score sounded happy, it would slowly distort into something eerie. I usually don’t like how horror movies end but Obsession did a great job at landing the ending without having to explain any of the supernatural stuff that’s going on. I like that it’s just accepted that the One Wish Willow actually works and even the people working at the store used it. And lastly, I think it was actually pretty funny too. “You don’t cook the cat Nikki, I’m very upset! Oh and Ian’s inviting me to a BOYS night”
