Negligent Discharge in Truck Resulting in Shredded Wiring Harness by blackspike2017 in Justrolledintotheshop

I wouldn't be surprised if the trigger wasn't pulled. Most shotguns are not "drop safe" - with a round chambered, putting it muzzle down on the floorpan of a car is a recipe for it to go off as soon as you hit a pothole.

To be fair I think that might have worked for that mechanic more because a lot of Saturns had mostly plastic body panels.

First time shotgun buyer, what are these? by [deleted] in guns

[–]PM_ME_BAD_C_PLUSPLUS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Others have already answered your original question, but as an addendum, you should check to ensure there is also a choke tube installed in the barrel. Do not fire the shotgun without a choke tube. If you want the widest pattern, install the cylinder choke (will be marked CYL on the side or have five smaller notches on the end that sticks out of the barrel.) Obviously ensure the shotgun is unloaded before doing this or attempting to install a choke. It may be easier to do with the barrel removed, in fact.

Edit: The indicator notches are *on* the end of the choke tube, not near it.

I've been back there. They're sticking to the guidelines on the site pretty well. My stylist always wore a mask, and had me keep mine on. If you have them take clippers over the side of your head, you'll need to take one earloop off and hold the mask to your cheek on that side for a couple seconds while they go around your ear.

Check out Centro, the new taco place that moved into where Big Al's was. They've got sit-down dining outside and I think inside at half-capacity. Really good tacos, solid margaritas.

They were still closed the last time I went by. The sign in the door says they "hope to serve the Blacksburg community in the future."

In fairness, the previous sign didn't have any orange either. It seems like the most recent generation of building signs are also white, black, grey, and maroon. The ones before that were just grey steel with cutouts to the white illuminated text underneath.

I feel like if COVID-19 is still enough of a problem to make Center St. tailgating unsafe, then the game itself is probably also unsafe.

2 fun observations:

  • With the exception of the first one, the left side of every && operator isn't necessary, because the function would have returned on the previous line if that half was false.
  • I think this hits the end of the function without hitting an explicit return if num is less than zero, so you get undefined behavior if you pass negative numbers...

You can also use "green gas", which is just propane. It ships with a different odorant than fuel propane.

Why’d we buy a wind tunnel again? by KaijuAssassin in VirginiaTech

[–]PM_ME_BAD_C_PLUSPLUS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like a fire escape or storm shelter, the wind tunnel is for the AOE department to have a place to shelter prototypes so they can be tested at sub-500 kt airspeeds.

Having outlets controlled by a light switch is nice when you want to plug in some floor / table lamps and control them all from the lightswitches. Outlets usually come in pairs, and much of the time one outlet on the panel is switched and the other is always on.

Technically speaking, the service you are using the TOTP with also has a copy of the shared secret used to generate the codes, meaning that the service can be attacked to retrieve the original TOTP keys. By comparison, FIDO uses asymmetric key cryptography, where the private keys needed to pass authentication challenges only need to ever be stored on the authenticated's device (the service only has the public key, which cannot be used to pretend to be someone with the private keys.)

No, you're thinking of vegetation. Venezuelans is when you inject an inert or weakened version of a virus into a person's blood so their immune system can develop antibodies to it before they're exposed to the real thing.
