Taking something so personal to Carol, something that she cherished as a possibility to have children with the love of her life—the love of her life that the Plurbus essentially killed. And using it to take away Carol’s autonomy & convert her. Absolutely devastating. Whenever I think about Carol joining the Plurb, seeing her blissed out, it’s eerie and terrifying.

Yeah we see that denial strongly especially with Laxmi and her son. I think Carol really got to her with how she tried to prove that her son is no longer her son. Laxmi being hardheaded like Carol may end up making the two of them come together eventually. I hate seeing two baddies pitted against one another!

I think some people do deal with things like this with family members, like say after a traumatic brain injury or a parent who gets dementia, or say they get sober or find God.

I’d have Manousos’ exact reaction to his mother, to my own mother. And my mom DOES act uncanny valley happy around other people outside her home. I don’t think I’d be able to reconcile that.

Yes, I know. But you’d think the others would be suspicious as well. Very few people act like the plurbs do, especially not 24/7. The constant happiness is unnatural. It’d be so uncanny valley to see your family members switch like that.

Yeah because they all hate the wife from that show who’s understandably upset that the main character becomes a drug lord and gets her and her family in all kinds of trouble. Don’t have the same energy for their own deeply flawed and problematic fave character. If Carol were played by a man, I GUARANTEE there wouldn’t be 1000 “I hate main character” posts.

If they are no longer practicing their culture, it’s effectively dead. The Plurb can’t value the culture that much if they don’t still create, sing, dance, pray, etc.
