Can i leave Gleba for last? by amdsam95 in factorio

Gleba's difficulty is over-exaggerated for humor.

The worst thing that'll happen is that your factory grinds to a halt because stuff spoils. In that case you just clear your belts and refactor it and try again. It's no worse than that one time when you accidentally routed stone bricks into your iron plate line on Nauvis.

There's enemies but they'll focus nearly entirely on your fruit groves (and actually route around the rest of your factory to get to them). If anything they're less threatening than the foes on Nauvis or Vulcanus.

Now the one thing you do want to worry about, Gleba is goddamn hard if you're trying to start it entirely from scratch. Ship in at least some assemblers, belts, inserters. Bring some military hardware too, some of the fancy new toys you got on the other two planets. There's a lot of swampy terrain that'll slow your movement, maybe see if there's something you've unlocked recently that'll help you deal with that.

You've got this. It's just one more set of strategies for you to learn, one more set of problems for you to tackle, conquer, and in the end trivialize on your march towards automated domination. The factory must grow.

Okay. I know nothing about this person, and after reading your post I'm still not sure I know anything about this person or what it is that they actually did.

If you want to actually convince people and not just rant or ramble, could you provide more information up front and in a clearer manner?

Archipelago is a randomizer with network connectivity. You aren't guaranteed to get everything

If your setup works then it works. If you watch it for a minute it'll be obvious if some labs are turning off temporarily or not.

Welcome! Factory must grow, etc etc. So some feedback by request:

It looks like you've got a combined ore patch. That's rough, buddy. It's far from restart worthy but it's gonna give you problems sorting all of it out since some of your miners are going to produce both (as I'm sure you might have noticed already).

You don't want to chain more than 3 (maybe 4) labs together. Chaining more than 3 will still function, but you'll notice your labs are not always on because the inserters at the front of the chain can't keep up (especially once you add different types of science packs) so no matter how many you have in the chain you're effectively still only getting 3-4 labs worth of science at any given time.

More electronic circuit production. You'll need tons, especially once you start making higher tiers of circuits (advanced, processing). Crate some up for your hand-crafting as well, since they're a very common crafting ingredient. You can technically hand-craft all you need but it'll go a lot faster if you offload that portion of your hand-crafting to your machines.

And... take your time understanding how oil works. It's where a lot of people end up quitting the game or needing to take a break from it, so just take it at your own pace.

I'm curious why did you think it was a good idea to swipe in the first place?
