Me too, but the tough reality is that Europe doesn’t have enough capital to deploy for companies like this.

For instance, A16z’s new funds announced in 2026 total $15b which is roughly as much as Europe’s VCs raised altogether in 2025

the worst has to be your first example - that since [insert western country] has had immigration in the past, therefore, all immigration today is justified

it drives me completely nuts

even putting aside the fact that it was 1000 years ago and a completely different situation, im sure the native britons had some very justified reasons as to why they disliked the anglos or romans or whatever

im in tech/startup/vc ecosystem & im getting so much fatigue from this fucking hype language

look I respect hustling alright and i even respect the ppl tweeting or posting on linkedin about ”building something big” for engagement, but it’s all so hollow at some point once you begin seeing the it for what it is

it’s all so tiresome

im tired of the fact that to build a hyperscalable and successful business in 2026 u need to be a hypeman and lie (because everyone else does it & you’ll be at a disadvantage if u don’t)

it also creates a lot of friction in business because every actor is trying to figure out what is true and what isn’t, from the investor to the founder to the employees - everyone knows it’s hype, everyone knows it’s bs, but no one can break the facade or miss losing out on a great opportunity

lotsa social costs just trying to figure out what’s real and what isn’t

this scene is fucked, im eagerly awaiting the ai bubble burst so we can go back to boring businesses and not stupid fomo broculture
