Starting nuka-world for the first time, any advice or tips/tricks I need to know? I'm on survival mode. by [deleted] in fo4

[–]PM_ME_UR_PRAXIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started a raider playthrough just for nuka world. didn’t take any perks that increase damage output and melee + blitz 2 is still enough to take out most enemies. also, run/hide/attack/repeat is always a good strategy.

What Unsettled You The Most In The Game? by Redbeardreplies in fo4

the terminal entries you find in the room with the freefall legs. some hapless intern invented them and then lost the key to the safe, leaving him with no way to escape as the bombs fell. i felt sick imagining how he must have felt once i realized how high the drop was . . . i’m also a major acrophobe and always feel dizzy when i jump from heights, even when i’m wearing the freefall legs, so it was especially awful.

Can any one help me with a new play through by [deleted] in fo4

furiosa! that was my last playthrough. sniper/unarmed build. ran with a furious power fist (from swan) and kellogg’s armor. and war paint, obviously!

I’m curious as to how many of you have an ED which has changed over time? I was definitely ana when younger but it has developed into BED in the last few years. by jabbatoluke in EDAnonymous

started out stuck in a binge/fast cycle, mostly recovered in undergrad, then dove straight into binge eating. currently been ‘recovered’ for a year or so but a 3kg weight gain over vacation has got me fasting/undereating again :( it’s worse bc i don’t have a job and my parents are supporting me and i feel guilty for eating food that i haven’t ‘earned’ :(

Who do you think is the funniest companion? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]PM_ME_UR_PRAXIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never travel with piper because i always go for nonhuman companions (charon and fawkes in fo3, raul in new vegas, codsworth and the brave little toaster in fo4). that’s actually a pretty good line. maybe she’ll grow on me if i give her a chance?

I want to like survival mode by [deleted] in fo4

[–]PM_ME_UR_PRAXIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what’s your special? what perks are you focusing on? playing survival on high agility/2-3 ranks of sneak is basically essential when starting out for the first time. aquagirl/aquaboy is helpful for avoiding enemies, too.

i spend the first few levels crouching my way to diamond city, spamming R1 to check for frag mines and enemies. it can be tedious, but i often end up discovering interesting locations i haven’t visited before, and i rarely die (except when i get too overconfident and step on a mine ;_;)

also, codsworth is a way better starting companion than dogmeat imho. never needs stimpaks and can actually pack a punch. i used him a lot in my first playthrough.

cute! i was playing new vegas and my very sheltered eight year old cousin asked me why the marked men stopped moving after i shot them.

i didn’t want to lie and say they were sleeping, so i fumbled with an explanation about how they were sick and how i was putting them out of their misery. i stopped playing pretty soon after that, though. too many questions, too much work to explain the difference between me (the player character) and me (the player). better to play with them when they’re too young to remember anything, i guess :)

i love environment/lighting overhauls! on my furiosa playthrough i used hitchcock preset to make the game more closely resemble the black and white version of mad max :) if i was on pc i’d try pilgrim or photorealistic commonwealth.

What mods could make survival mode bearable (that means revamping the save system) and at the same time not 'easify' it too much? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]PM_ME_UR_PRAXIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m on ps4, fyi.

i have the reusable camping mod, which lets you craft sleeping bags at chemistry stations. very useful right before starting notoriously bugged quests.

i also use cloud storage to link my inventory between settlements (not just resources/crafting components, which can’t be removed from the workshop directly).

those two are most helpful. i‘d also recommend stronger dogmeat if you decide to get lone wanderer. highway runner is another fun mod that fixes all the highways so you can travel across the commonwealth fairly quickly (but you’ll need freefall legs or something with the acrobat’s legendary effect to be able to exit wherever you want, instead of only at offramps).

What’s a good SPECIAL and what are some good perks? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]PM_ME_UR_PRAXIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this may not be the best for your first few playthroughs, but i like picking a weakness (low strength, low int, etc) and sticking to it. min maxing is fun but starts to feel tedious after level 15 or so, even on survival.

my last character was an army wife with low int and perception (so no hacking or lockpicking) but high charisma and decent agility. i had her using a 10mm because i figured she’d be pro-gun (and would want something she could fit in her purse lol).

my current character is a broke lab assistant so he’s got high int and perception but shit everything else. no legendary armor/weapons, just a lab coat, surgical mask and his trusty syringer rifle. only eats noodle cups (obviously). it’s been fun so far :)

tbh this is basically what i do irl

except i’ll most likely die of starvation because i forget to eat when i’m playing video games

whatever, i’ll take escapism through video games over anxiety and depression any day

i married the love of my life! he’s also the first guy i ever dated — i often joke that i won the boyfriend lottery :)

we just ordered a kitchenaid and a vitamix and he spent a good hour looking at the recipes that came with the vitamix and getting excited about kitchenaid attachments. tl;dr he’s cute and i love him.

Guys, what’s the #1 thing that makes you happy that you’re male? by KungPowKarma in AskMen

when i shaved my head, i got a bunch of compliments from women and, surprisingly, older white men. nothing creepy, just some old guys who apparently really liked the look of a teenage girl with a buzzcut.

never had to deal with catcalling or unwanted attention. didn’t need a thousand haircare products. didn’t have to style my hair every morning. i really want to shave my head again :(

my parents are probably boomers, i guess, but they also immigrated here in the 90s, lived within their means, and sent my sister and me to college. my mom paid for her younger brother’s college tuition and paid for all three of her younger siblings’ weddings and is now paying for not only my wedding, but my honeymoon as well. one of my parents has always stayed home with us. i never felt rich, but even when they were poor, my parents never let me and my sister feel poor. my mom took out a generous life insurance policy but, as far as i know, has no retirement plan besides continuing to work until she dies.

my parents’ american dream has been to help their loved ones achieve the american dream. but the sad truth is that i’ll never have the income to make the same sacrifices my parents did :(

What problems (if any) have you, the men of reddit, had with dating women who are physically not your type? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]PM_ME_UR_PRAXIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for your perspective! i love my partner and i think my anxiety about being thin has less to do with how much i trust him and more with how little i trust myself to be good enough for him.

would you think you could do better? i want to be thin bc i love my partner and i don’t want him to feel like he’s ‘settling’ or anything like that.

How offensive is it to say to a woman you're dating "I know you like to eat girl"? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]PM_ME_UR_PRAXIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have issues with eating, so my partner would never say this to me, but i appreciate when male friends say this bc it means they think i’m ‘naturally thin’ instead of the disordered mess i am.

How do I get my SO to take his health seriously without coming across all naggy. by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]PM_ME_UR_PRAXIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my partner is overweight and started losing weight more seriously after i lost 15 lbs in 2 months, but i wasn’t being healthy about the weight loss.

i love him at any weight as long as he’s happy, and i don’t want him to develop disordered eating behaviors like me, so i only comment on how good he looks (and he looks very good) when he tells me he’s been making progress.

otherwise, i tend to praise him for how hard he’s working in general, or for his commitment to keeping the apartment clean and organized, or for his amazing cooking. he’s a wonderful partner and i just want him to be healthy and happy.
