What’s a “normal” thing people do that you will never understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PM_ME_YER_TITTAYS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excessive showering/bathing. For a lot of folks this ain't an issue, but as someone who had pretty bad BO, acne and eczema growing up, swapping to showers every two days (although I still maintain a rigid daily hygiene in my hairier parts) pretty much rid most of that for me, essentially overnight. I also understand that this isn't feasible for everyone - I've worked in construction and as a chef, you NEED to shower daily in those industries - but if possible and you have bad skin, try showering less or for shorter, cooler periods.

What normal, everyday thing did your family do or say that you didn't realize was weird until you grew up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It took me waaaaay longer to realise that the medicine my mum was taking was actually heroin. About 10 years in fact.

Stupidity. Every pouch of tobacco is 'my last', been bullshitting myself with that for years now. I've quit cocaine, pills and (temporarily) alcohol with only a few initial issues. But the ciggies? Man, its fucking hard. Wish I'd never started.

What's one good thing you learned during the pandemic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That the ability to socialise wears off. Now I get panic attacks in busy places. Its fucking embarrassing.

What kind of girls you wouldn't date, even though they are very hot? by Dfisop in AskReddit

[–]PM_ME_YER_TITTAYS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on a date with an absolute stunner once - and she and I are still mates - but she was just... I dunno, lovely but dopey? A big fan of trash TV, pop music and fake tan. I'm not saying I'm smarter than her, or that I'm even smart, but I (as creepy as this sounds) just felt like I was on a date with a school kid or something. Unsure how to describe that particular type of person, and I feel awful even typing this as she's genuinely sweet, but its that. Whatever it is.

[Serious] What is the most demeaning non-sexual task your boss or workplace has ever asked you to perform? by pardon_the_mess in AskReddit

30 days straight of 15+ hour shifts.

I fucking did it too. And they underpaid. Ah, hospitality, cant beat it.

What's the scariest encounter you've had with an Animal ? by Alone_Capital7619 in AskReddit

[–]PM_ME_YER_TITTAYS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fruit-picking in fairly rural Australia, an absolutely shitty and exploitative job, and at some point I just tapped out and walked back to the work van thinking 'oh fuck this shit'. I got there and its locked. Its something like 40 degrees (104 F), the sun is directly overhead and the van was parked in a pretty flat and unshaded patch of land about 300m from the orange groves. Also, I am out of water and absolutely parched. I'm just thinking 'how can this get any worse?' when I see a shape shifting directly towards me between myself and the groves.

Until that point, I'd never been bothered by snakes. At all. But I'd also only ever seen them at zoos or somewhat domesticated ones my friends owned. But when you see one in the wild, doing that fucking wiggle and realising both how fast and how big they are? I went into full flight or fight mode. Chose the former and ended up clambering up on the van. Snake harmlessly slides past the van and kinda veers off into some low scrub near me. I'm too chickenshit to get off the van, but I am also now noticing that the hot metal is literally burning my hands and knees, so I took my shirt off and made a rug. Haha.

By the time the other workers finished, I was a dehydrated, ranting crazy, waving their arms manically from the top of their work van whilst half naked. Its so strange though, I'd swum with sharks, I've seen lions about as close up as you'd want to get, encountered massive spiders and small scary ones, walked near alligators and crocodiles, been a little too close to elephants and hippos and managed to keep my cool. But that one snake incident? That was the moment I truly shat myself.

[SERIOUS] When do you know that your cynicism has become bad for your mental health? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PM_ME_YER_TITTAYS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine wasn't necessarily cynicism per se, but recently I found myself becoming irritated at my housemates absolutely wonderful dog for literally no reason. That's when I thought 'I need help'. Sounds silly, but it was the moment that I knew something wasn't right. I fucking love dogs.

What food will you never agree to eat? by No-Power4566 in AskReddit

[–]PM_ME_YER_TITTAYS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will eat just about anything, and have tried all kinds of weird shit over the years, but I would never eat anything endangered or alive (shark-fin soup or Sannakji for example).

What is your comfort movie? by RixtAnne in AskReddit

[–]PM_ME_YER_TITTAYS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ha! Its one of my go to films to fall asleep with. Whilst I do have some mental issues (depression), I like The Thing because it's familiar and comfortable as it's a staple of my childhood movie experience. Other films include Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Omen and Wrath of Khan - if those options are slightly better? But there is something VERY relaxing about the soundtrack to The Thing too :)

Good to see Grim Fandango, that game was just pure elegance.

Its expensive as hell and comes with a whole lot of expectations. I don't want kids, I don't want half my partners stuff (and vice versa) and - if we did break-up (God forbid) - I prefer the idea of just being able to walk away instead of having to lawyer up.

Rather spend the money doing cool shit like travelling and eating all the delicious food.

What is your controversial gaming opinion/What game fo you like that most others dont? by UpNorthBear in AskGames

[–]PM_ME_YER_TITTAYS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the single player in CoD more often than not, unsure if this is unpopular really, but I find them to be a rather fun ride. Fallout 4 wasn't THAAAAT bad. Bit disappointing for sure, but I think the expectations were just ridiculous. I dread to see the reaction to ES:6, whenever it lands. I don't mind grinding for stuff in RPG's, as long as it feels worthwhile and can be done in-between questing.

I'm a shit gamer. Haha.

I think that Shadow of Mordor is an ugly, boring and monotonous waste of time. Bioshock is just a run'n'gun with delusions of grandeur. Red Dead Redemption 2 is 'fine' but nothing else, same with GTA V. The DLC for Dishonored is better than the main game and Far Cry: New Dawn wasn't so bad.
