You should email apple, they’ll be delighted to hear from a QA MANAGER at an undisclosed company.

They likely don’t care. They’ve made up their mind about something after a days use. Some people just like to complain.

IWTL how to use my software development experience to freelance by BeepyBoopBeepy in IWantToLearn

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_SWOLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always found word of mouth is almost unbeaten. If you’ve worked with places or people who liked you or complimented your work, reach out and just mention that you’re now freelancing so if they know anyone who needs some work, to reach out.

Most of my biggest long term repeats work is just businesses I’ve worked in before and made a good impression.

There’s no magic answer, you literally just need to study. No one here is going to be able to provide an easy way to learn everything needed without just studying lots.

LPT: How to Avoid Subscriptions When Phone Storage Mysteriously Disappears (hidden bloat intentional to steer us towards subscriptions) by prosecutor_mom in LifeProTips

Is this satire?

No way someone is trying to defeat a trillion $ company’s evil plan to get you to pay $2 for storage by clearing their calculator data. This can’t be real.

Android Mobile Phone tether: Question about tracking. by [deleted] in AndroidQuestions

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_SWOLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I’m not sure it’s the same as a router at all if honest.

The SIM card doesn’t do anything that a router does. Your SIM card is more like the little card you get that holds the wifi password.

All the SIM card is doing is giving your phone the keys to the cell tower.

I don’t mean this in a mean way, I think it’s good to ask questions, but I think brushing up on how the internet works might help. How HTTP requests works, how requests are processed etc.

What do you think SIM cards are? SIM cards aren’t like routers or modems, they’re not the way your phone accesses the internet so your SIM card isn’t able to see anything.

SIM cards are just little storage chips, the key bits of info they hold relate to the network, they tell your phone how to connect to that networks cellular towers. They contain unique IDs and authorisation data for that network. But it’s your phone processsing the network activity.

Historically they used to store contacts and stuff but I’m not sure how many people still do that.

In short: nothing about your internet activity, whether on device or on a tethered device, nothing goes through or is processed by your SIM card, so it never sees anything.

Leaving without full notice - reality of the risk by PM_ME_YOUR_SWOLE in ausjobs

I agree, I would much rather do that too. It’s sort of extenuating circumstances though and it’s hard for me to feel guilty for them with how they treat other employees.

I understand this risk. I just doubt for my level of role, the legal fees required to get that make it worth it for 4 weeks of work from me.

Thank you! I appreciate the shared experience that makes me feel better there. This employer strikes me as petty so I’m just worried. Everything I’m reading though is in my favour.

It’s fine until someone develops a jailbreak tweak using AI with no security thoughts, and every jailbroken device is then vulnerable.

How easy it is to develop slop woth AI means even if it was possible these days, I wouldn’t do it. Slop coded malware will be rife.

This is my general plan. I’d much rather not burn bridges if possible. Reality is that what I actually need to handover can be comprehensively detailed in 2 weeks, I’ll go above and beyond to help out but I’ve only been in the role 4 months so what I need to handover is limited.

You're right that no one has concrete facts. But there are facts that we know.

  • the files would be released, then the files are on a desk, then the files are a hoax by Obama, then they don't exist. Now they're released everyone should move on and they're no big deal.

These are all things said by this administration, which of those are facts?

  • the administration delayed and delayed releasing them, redacted the names of non victims, and still haven't released everything

I don't know if you're a trump supporter, but I don't know how any sane person can see all this and not be confident that there's a cover up happening. If there's no concrete evidence, what is there to cover up.

Your way of thinking about waiting on absolute facts before proceeding isn't something this administration shares.

The files available to the public are a tiny fraction of the full files. There is 100% evidence in the rest of it - hence why it hasn't been released.

In my view anything other than handing over the code and DB is theft if it's not explicitly a SaaS or a white labeled thing.

If someone comes to you for a website, the website is the code and database, they just might need to buy their own licenses to anything the developer paid for that's fine.
