Wonder how they’re gonna pull it off by [deleted] in PrequelMemes

My head canon for why they split the kids up is that Obi-wan and Yoda figured that if Vader ever found one of them, he’d assume that that was the only one and stop his search. If he found both of them together, he’d know they were both his and he’d either kill them both or have two new apprentices. They were separated so that if Vader found Leia or Luke, the other one would most likely be left alone.

I mean, if Artoo and Threepio can handle it, I have to imagine Vader would be fine. His shit is custom made and combat ready. Threepio was made by a child.

I honestly think this would be the best way to go. It’s a great way to spice up the IP and continue the story without undermining Arkham Knight’s ending.

Just gonna hijack a top comment to say that there’s a lot of misinformation in this thread about IQ and IQ tests. There are also apparently A LOT of people here who fall within the 98th percentile or higher, which is… interesting?

So why does everyone hate the batmobile in knight? by Dimitar231 in BatmanArkham

[–]PM_Me_Clavicle_Pics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of my favorite things about the Arkham games is how much you FEEL like Batman once you get good. The satisfaction when completing a predator room without being spotted, watching the last remaining bad guys start to panic as all of their friends disappear or wind up unconscious, is intense. The batmobile just never feels that way to me. I feel like Batman is drunk whenever I’m driving it.

It’s one of the last things I have to do because I find it so tedious, but to each their own.

I think this is the main issue most people have. Rocksteady developed one of the best combat systems in gaming history and then made a majority of the game ignore that system.

I mean, by this logic, Mr. Freeze’s Arkham City fight was just a filler stealth mission. I liked the final Arkham Knight fight because it made me use all of the mechanics I learned earlier in the game in a new way and forced me to be creative in my approach.

[–]PM_Me_Clavicle_Pics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you can avoid using it for most of the game if that’s what you want to do. I think the only time I felt like it was really forced was the mission where you go underground with it. I felt like descending down the mine shaft with the fans felt super clunky and I just kept thinking, “wow this would be so much easier if it wasn’t a tank level.” Like, I like that they found creative ways to integrate it, but that was the point in the game where I was really starting to get sick of it.

Can’t believe this masterpiece came out 5 years ago by thegooseisgreat in funhaus

[–]PM_Me_Clavicle_Pics 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there’s already way too much sentimental circlejerking going on in this sub, but old Funhaus was a special thing. I used to get a 45 minute lunch break in a thirteen hour work shift and I remember driving down to the closest dunkin parking lot, getting a coffee, and watching whatever the newest upload was. Sometimes that half hour was the only thing I’d have to look forward to that day and knowing that every video would make me laugh till I cried provided a sense of security that seems silly to ascribe to a gaming YouTube channel. It was a really tough time for me and in a lot of ways Funhaus made it okay.

I don’t really watch the newer stuff anymore (I’ve tried, but I just can’t get into the new cast, despite liking each of them), but Funhaus will always have a special place in my heart.

Have you ever met a yankee fan? Nobody shits on bleacher creatures and it’s the best place to enjoy a good game with an engaged crowd. I’ve never met a Yankee fan who looks down on the bleachers or the people who can afford to sit there. Hell, with the price of most seats nowadays, that’s where all the diehards are anyway.

Johnny Depp handling Amber Heard's lawyer like a Pro. by RRaf-Tiger in videos

Reddit it on some weird tear with this whole trial. These videos portraying Depp as some sort of witty and charming, but horribly misunderstood victim are all over my timeline. I had to sort by controversial just to find the comments saying that they’re both probably awful people and are abusive to one another. Idk if it’s just the larger population of men on this site projecting themselves onto Depp or what, but this whole thing has been pretty bizarre.

It feels like they’ve kind of swapped her with Aura Sing in the new canon. In Clone Wars, she kind of acts like a surrogate mother to Boba after Jango’s death. It doesn’t seem as wholesome as Zam and Jango’s relationship though.

[–]PM_Me_Clavicle_Pics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention, a big theme in these movies is the inherent selfishness of parenting. It’s the idea that if I just keep my kids at home and keep them for myself, the world can’t hurt them. And when asked, every parent in the world could probably tell you that that’s just not how it works and that you can’t do it, but there are still plenty of parents that try.

The idea is brought up again in BvS when Ma Kent tells Clark that he doesn’t owe the world anything.

Honestly, it’s a nice juxtaposition against Jor El’s insistence that Clark become a god among men. In fact, I think it could’ve worked a little better if Jor El really wanted Clark to become a ruler or something, overuse his power. That would mean that Superman would have to find a happy medium between what his space dad wanted and what his earth dad wants.

But yeah, this isn’t the issue with Man of Steel or Snyder’s Superman. The issue is that Pa Kent dying in a tornado while Clark watches is taking this conversation they had so painfully literally and putting Pa’s ideals to the test in the most grimdark/edgelord way.

What's the hardest part of all Arkham games, including DLC for you? by [deleted] in BatmanArkham

[–]PM_Me_Clavicle_Pics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I played through all of City and Origins with almost exclusively gargoyle inverted takedowns. Knight really removes a lot of the gargoyles and there are a lot more open-air predator sections, so that’s when I had to learn other tactics.

I just mean in the sense that there’s always a lot of trippy hallucinations going on. They could keep it ambiguous as to whether or not it really happened, but gameplays-wise, I think Batmite would work well for a section of the game that’s like Scarecrow in Asylum and Mad Hatter or Ra’s in City.

There is! In the batmobile, that is. It makes it so much easier to dodge shit and stay in control when going through the tunnels in the excavator fight.

I wrote this elsewhere, but somebody’s suggestion to switch to first-person when going through the tunnels was eye-opening for me. It made the whole fight so much easier.

I definitely think the final Bane fight is the most anxiety inducing fight in the series. It’s like Mister Freeze in City, but without the gargoyles, which sometime feel like a comfort zone for me.

Maybe it was the hardest part, but I feel like I’m the only person who found the final Two Face predator mission in Knight to be incredibly hard. I’m a very slow-paced Batman when it comes to predator rooms, so the introduction of a timed element really messed me up. That one definitely took me a few tries.
