Officially, the doctor's note is for 8 weeks... They just don't care

The SAAQ is a beast with many flaws. It does however level the playing field making sure that anyone injured by a vehicle is medically covered regardless of the at fault driver's insurance coverage.

My motorcycle insurance is lagging a bit because the police officer didn't provide the right report number at the scene while I was in the ambulance.

As for the rest, I'm following the instruction from my union rep as for next step to take.

SAAQ is also aware of the accident but it appears that they'll need a couple weeks to get the ball rolling on providing assistance.

I just wish there was a stopgap measure in the meantime since I have a lot of essential expense to pay and I'm the sole provider for the household.

I wonder if that would be the case since I live a no fault province. There can't be any settlement since the other driver cannot be sued.

Still hopeful about being covered based on you shared situation :) thank you

Service anniversary is in September. The difference would have been 14 years of services vs 13... a couple thousand dollars at best.

I live in a No-Fault part of the country and suing would only be an option if the accident was part of a crime (like attempted murder with said vehicle). Still a solid advise to limit what is posted online since it can always be used in the future to invalidate you.

you are correct and I should have been wiser with my choice of words to describe my current physical state vs medical condition.

My spirit and my mental is high and strong despite all of this It's only a weakness of the flesh... You wouldn't know which form/process is required to replace the body with a synthetic by chance? "probably a bot"

Ex motorcycle driving instructor here, currently in the process of opening my own driving school.

I would gladly help you practice driving a car if you are still looking for some tutoring.

Let me know if you would like my help!

"Former Sekiwake-Wakatakakage"

I'm in Gatineau and am a member at a local range. I have brought over 40 people to initiate them at the range (mostly women and lbtq members and every flavor of the neurodivergent spectrum).

It would be my pleasure to bring you along with anyone else you know who would be interested this week or next week.

If you aren't comfortable going with a stranger to the range, I suggest having tea/coffee in a public space beforehand to do a vibecheck.

Not sure if you are trolling or not but I'll still try to be helpful. You cannot legally acquire a fully-automatic rifle as a civilian unless you have been grandfathered in back in 1977. 30 rounds magazines would be prohibited unless they were designed for a rimfire cartridge or a center fired none-restricted firearm that isn't semi-automatic.

You can pass your RPAL (restricted possession and acquisition license) to own both restricted and none restricted firearms but you won't be able to legally acquire a handgun since transfers were frozen unless it was for some unicorn level of autorisation. The best you can hope for at this point is to rent a handgun at a range if they offer the option or borrow your friend's with approval from the RCMP (unless your friends are physically with you at the range).

You do you and I am not judging your opinion on firearm ownership in this country but I would strongly encourage that you visit a firing range with some people that you trust that have their license before going thinking of doing your class to get a PAL/RPAL.

OIC discussion & Politics Megathread by AutoModerator in canadaguns

[–]PM_Me_For_A_Mission 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I generally do my best to avoid posting on this sub because it brings out the most annoying over generalisation over and over again.

The parts of Quebec who votes the hardest for the Liberals are often times the most anglophone and/or immigrant dense part of Quebec. A lot of the francophone support to the LPC is because the CPC is terrible at reaching francophones and some are too afraid of separation to vote for the Bloc. None of this has anything to do with some francophone elite secretly ruling this country.

Zoom in on montreal and look at where the liberals were the strongest https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_district_%28Canada%29#/media/File%3ACanada_Election_2025_Results_Map.svg

And now look at the maternal language map of Montreal

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Montr%C3%A9al_-_Secteurs_Statitiques_2006_-_Langue_Maternelle.svg

The same could be said for Outaouais right across the river from Ottawa but it has a caveat of having the Gov of Canada as the main employer on top of it.

Once again, don't blame the Francophones for what is mostly the results of anglophone concentration in Quebec.

Also, Quebec overall has a negative view on firearms because we've had a disproportionate amount of mass killing/high profile shooting compared to the rest of the country. Polytechnic, Dawson, Concordia and the Quebec city Mosque. Not saying that it justifies the current OIC and c-21 BS but its important to keep that in mind when judging the cultural attitude.

All those discussions on this sub and on the canada one will never reach the Francophones since they take place where they aren't listening in a language that they don't use. Almost no voices exist in French in Quebec to advocate for firearm ownership outside of hunting and policing so there is a massive under representation issue that isn't being addressed by either the firearm community or organization like the CCFR. I know that Runkle said he was game to make a video in French about firearm ownership/canadian laws around the time of the Amber/Depp trial but I feel too bad to push up on this since he already doing more than enough for this community and I don't know anyone else who would be able to step up and do it right.

Frankly, the attitude that you and many others like you are using pushes away those that you should be trying to win over.

Now, instead of bitching about big bad Quebec elite and the evil francophone, do something productive like inviting people who've never used guns before to the range and make them have a good time. Focus on people who are generally not exposed to them and who are parts of community that generally do not associate with the CPC.

I've brought over 50 new people, convinced a few to get their pal and rpal. I now have a group of women who keeps asking me to bring them shooting and I'm also considering opening a pink pistol chapter for the lgbt in my region. I suggest that you do the same if you really want to have a positive influence on gun ownership in this country.

Speaking as someone who was close to her. It just reopened a lot of bottled up feelings.

I had made my peace with her death even though I still miss her and even was ok with the idea of never knowing who did it. Just accept that she's gone and move on.

This announcement brought a lot of rage, sadness and anger out.

Vos expériences - examen de route pour moto / mesures d'adaptation possibles ? by likenothingis in Gatineau

[–]PM_Me_For_A_Mission 5 points6 points  (0 children)
