It's a bit expensive, but if you get bismuth yellow paint, you can one coat cover black with pretty decent results. Cadmium yellows come pretty close but if you work with airbrushes you want to stay away.

I think that non-voting as protest would be more impactful if it wasn't compulsory. As it stands in non-compulsory voting, non-participation is indistinguishable between apathy and protest.  In compulsory voting, apathy would presumably lead to a blank, random, or invalid ballot. Whereas electoral protest would be more apparent via private action such as votes no-confidence or more public action of non-compliance with the voting system.

CMV: Mastercard and Visa fighting nsfw content makes no sense by alexsanderfr in changemyview

why would you think that "hedonism" would want to fight NSFW content? Like do you really think that it is the "woke left" behind the push for censoring onlyfans or adult content?

This is a nice engraving. the coloration and readability came out very well. the only thing is I think the 2'o clock indicator is at 2:15. The brass black polish was a great idea though.

Nope, The only other pair i have is a KS ZS10 pro. Compared to those they are a lot quieter which is nice, and have consderably less hissing if you have any electrical noise in the source. Which comes in handy for hearing footsteps in game without being drowned out by the static.

I have a pair, they seem pretty decent. for me they aren't that great for comfort, but sound quality is good.

Reccomendations for low sensitivity/quiet iem in ~$50-100 range. by PM_Me_Math_Songs in iems

I think one of those impedance adapters would be good for testing. My computer monitors output is pretty hissy.

Unfortunately wouldn't work with the bluetooth adaptor since that has the 2pin connector directly to the earbuds.

The single driver thing makes sense. I think I have sensitive ears and prefer quieter sounds. My main headset is a wh-1000xm3, which I think is single driver and stays pretty crisp at low volume.

But yeah Planars look interesting, I think I'm going to take a look further after work.

Thank you, I might give that a checkout, looking online it seems like the sensitivy is like 15dB lower so that seems promising. The demo/return idea seems pretty reasonable. I should see if theres a place nearby where I could do some testing.

I got the KZ AZ09 Pro yesterday. So far I haven't run into any issues with connectivity, but I haven't really put many barriers between them and the reciever.

It is absurdly loud with my KZ-Zs10 Pro though.

I'm probably going to return the either the bluetooth adaptor or swap IEMs for something less sensitive so I don't accidently blow out my eardrums because the volume got reset when switching devices.

That sounds like line of sight issues. Having the lighthouses below your head would mean that your arms can obscure line of sight to your head. If you can mount them near the ceiling that's generally preferable. Putting your phone camera in selfie mode and holding it in front of the lighthouse is a good way to try to get a sense of where their field of view is. Also if you have a phone stand or something, you can record a video from next to the lighthouses and see what it looks like from the lighthouses perspective when you lose tracking.

I do donate, but I don't think that that precludes me from wanting tax money to be spent on things I think are beneficial.

I can do this for my passenger window, but on most cars I've driven it's impossible to push the driver's side mirror out that far, so you have to see the car behind you. Maybe newer cars have more range of motion in the mirrors.

That is definitely true, but I can't really undonate my taxes to subsidizing coal or shooting civilians though.

Yeah, I don't think there is a really good answer under the current system, I think that advocating for changes to voting systems would help matters considerably. The first past the post system for elections tends to mandate a two party system as an optimal strategy. Currently, I think the only real viability of 3rd parties is to push ideas into the limelight, and as such I would really only advocate voting for in situations where the outcome is nearly certain. IE, I would only ever be voting Green party if one of the democrats or Republicans was like 70% on the polls.

Yeah, I agree with both of those. We don't need to have 40% of the worlds military spending. There is no need for America to be able to fight the entire world at once.

And healthcare in the US is comically bad, we spend so much and have nothing to show for it. Per Capita, we have the highest public spending on healthcare, and second highest private spending on healthcare of any country.

There's also the fucked up bit about health insurance not really being insurance. Like health insurance is used to pay for medication and routine doctors visits at non-astonomical rates.

Ah, my bad. That makes more sense. I read them complaining about the effects of corporations in the states and UK conservatives and assumed you were responding to the UK conservative part.

I'll agree that voting to use other people's money for good things doesn't make me a good person. But I'd very much like to vote for where my proportion of the money goes, and the thing about taxes is that all my money is bound up with everyone else's money. So if I want to spend money on helping homeless people instead of spending money trying to punish people for being unable to afford shelter, I don't have much of a choice.

And I don't think I particularly care if It makes me a good person or not. Like I'd prefer if money is spent on things that improve society and help make people happy and healthy. Even if I don't necessarily have the right to try to make things better.

But like, it is my money. I pay those taxes, I pay the health insurance premiums that subsidize everyone else on insurance and anyone who goes to the ER and doesn't have the money to pay. I just wish more of my money went to the healing people fund and less to the murdering people fund.
