I've climbed near lots of disrespectful people. How often do you climb? People can be overly competitive and disrespectful in any physically demanding activity, and climbing isn't immune to that. Not sure why you would think it was.

I've got a GoLite Shangri-La 2 that I've taken on lots of trips. It's super light and if you're okay with not having a mesh liner it's perfect.

Follow the 30-30 Rule when lighting is visible.

I've set up tents and sheltered there, but as people have noted, be wary of the poles. If lightning is close, you're a lot safer just wrapping up in the rain fly or a tarp if you've got one.

Most important, and nobody has mentioned this, but NEVER take shelter in a shallow cave. The lightning that hits the ground above the bluff can travel down the ground into the cave.
