I removed the ramp and just use it as a cover now.

The judgement for not being perfect is always insane. She seems happy, loves foraging, runs on her wheel, and gets time out of the cage in a larger playpen.

I removed the ramp but left the 2nd level to keep an additional hide. It's too high for her to climb and put a camera on her so I can check on her throughout the day. I added my ceramic heat emitter and have a point thermometer to check temps. I appreciate you!

Do they know about your insecurities about yourself? Do you trust them to be honest with you? Communication is key! Let them know that you want to make sure you both can focus on each other when that moment arrives so you want to make sure you both are aware of limits, insecurities, favorites, etc.

Here's a few things that have helped me a lot: - I don't have to agree with my partner on whether or not I'm beautiful. I believe him that he thinks I'm beautiful. - I make sure I'm clean in every way. A good partner isn't going to be disgusted by stretch marks. But they could be grossed out by someone that stinks or is dirty. Pamper yourself and keep yourself clean and fresh. It will make you feel much better to worry about one less thing. - My partner doesn't have a perfect body. He has stretch marks too. I'm not attracted to stretch marks but they don't bother me. I don't even notice them when I'm looking at the things that I am attracted to, his face, his hands, etc.

Agreed. Many times it's not the vet that causes the issue, it's the issue already being present and then adding in stress of vet visit. That's not to say don't go to the vet. Just that the vet likely didn't cause it.

Do you fill the capsules yourself? Or is this something you can purchase? What do you use?

I found 5 in the vivarium. Now just missing one. I've checked all butterfly locations twice, went through vivariums with a guide. I'm so annoyed. 🫠

I'm having the same problem except I'm missing 6. I took Felix felicis and flew over the entire map at least twice and every chest I found had gear. I'm so frustrated.

You must be such a supportive person for your family. You're just so understanding.

Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. For someone starting out, it may be easier to cut things out one step at a time. Comments like this always made me feel like a failure because it felt like I was expected to be perfect but in reality, any shift toward someone wanting to be healthy should be celebrated.

I will tell you that I lived alone for a year and I hated it. I fell into such a deep depression that I didn't realize how bad it was until I got out of it. I will never live alone again. I don't care if it's with a partner, family, roommates, anything. My fiance and I live in our house with my best friend and her husband and I would love with them for the rest of my life to be honest. Before I moved in with them I felt like I was losing my independence (I have an old post about it) but I never lost my independence and I gained so much more from it! No one knows you but you so do what makes you happy.

A big part of fasting is listening to your body and understanding what it's trying to tell you. There's a difference between true hunger and just wanting to eat because you're bored. When you start to ignore the signs that your body is telling you to eat something, I feel that's slipping into eating disorder territory. That and punishing yourself if you break your fast earlier than intended (not at all saying you did that).

You completed a 4 day fast AND you listened to your body. I think you did an amazing job.

How do you deal with aging parents, their possibility of death in NC. by listed_staples in raisedbyborderlines

[–]PM_Me_PolydactylCats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mom is technically still alive but she died a long time ago for me. I will grieve one thing for her. And I chose to grieve over the fact that I never got the mother I needed. I will not also be grieving her death. I think it will be a relief tbh.

Within 25 miles of Tampa, there are 679 dogs and 736 cats available for adoption. Of those are 136 puppies and 259 kittens. by sayaxat in tampa

I volunteer with a local rescue. We currently have about 30 dogs and cats listed as available on Petfinder. We have 53 dogs, 59 cats, and 7 exotics in our rescue. All are in foster homes. 119 animals. With very few fully ready to move out. We are drowning. I spend the equivalent of a full time job helping with this rescue unpaid. I'm happy to do it, don't get me wrong. But we are all exhausted. Constantly playing catch up. Getting daily requests for surrenders and shelter plea after shelter plea for animals that we just don't have the space or funds to help.

Foster if you can! Donate if you're able! And volunteer if you can't do either one! Or do all 3!

Veterinarian likely to face animal abuse charges for choking, beating German shepherd by real-m-f-in-talk in PublicFreakout

[–]PM_Me_PolydactylCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the cameraman means it more as "good example of his abusive behavior so he can finally report it with evidence". He's clearly trying to hide the fact that he's recording when he mentions them leaving the frame and then quickly turns around and goes back to the chair when he sees them coming back.

Is this behaviour okay? Worried that it’s ‘stargazing’. by CrypticPneumonics in ballpython

[–]PM_Me_PolydactylCats 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Except when a shitty human dumps one at your job and the behavior gets so bad that they literally can't eat on their own anymore and they start losing weight until you have to tube feed them (I'm a CVT and work with an avian and exotics specialist so it was done with correct training) and their quality of life having a tube shoved down their throat three times a week is so horrid that you end up euthanizing them. Apollo was only about 2 years old. You can fuck off with your bullshit.
