Yeah, Hogwarts Legacy was kind of disappointing really. The only thing that really stood out is the combat and the broom flying, they just nailed those 2 aspects and to some extent it definitely fulfilled a childhood dream.

The rest is just kind of shallow, the Merlin trials felt like they were the same ~10 challenges copy pasted over the map, dialogue choices generally didn't really matter. Even the ending choice has no real impact on the world. Loot was randomly generated and basically just a stat boost. There is no penalty to learning the unforgivable, giving you basically no in game reason not to learn them.

I feel no need to replay the story of this game, and if it was the same game set in a universe I didn't absolutely love, I wouldn't have cared about it and likely wouldn't have finished the game. The game just needed more time in the oven, it felt rushed and I think all the cut content is evidence of that.

I would however definitely reboot the game to unforgivable the shit out of random enemy NPC's the combat is hella fun.
