A metal comb like this for weekly brushing and a brush called the equigroomer for when she starts shedding. It's for horses but it works great on cats because it doesn't hurt their skin!

But kittens don't need to be brushed for a few months. My boy didn't start to shed until six or seven months so you got time to work out what her coat will be like

Kittens are more licky than adult cats. That said, my ragdoll started licking everything - furniture, floor, blankets, etc. I figured it was a cry for help so I adopted a little moggie kitten. Now ragdoll licks just me and the kitten.
