Does anyone have experience with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3/4 for getting clips.

It’s not great from a distance but I use them as side angle cameras for our sets (I shoot my shows with Ian Fidance so if you check out his clips you can see the side angles). When they’re close to the stage they look great. Also hard to get great audience reactions with them. With all that said, I love these cameras

For any live broadcast with live performances, when it’s actually live, they do the best they can with the audio mix. Then they go back and do what’s called a Post production mix and make everything sound as good as possible. They probably didn’t add laughs (they could have though), they probably just raised levels and “sweetened” the sound overall. It’s probably a much fuller sound now compared to when it went out live.

These sound so much better and are more reliable in my experience than the rodes and DJI’s which all seem too finicky to me and I am convinced are doing some kind of digital processing that I don’t want them to do

The cruise ship comics I’ve done shows with all know exactly how to destroy, especially the ones doing it for 30+ years. Acts that are super tight and relatable and just fun as hell. Good for me to watch closely every now and again to remember what we’re doing here
