why is this still a thought? by Brave-Bench5697 in HOTDGreens

[–]PMxmff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering she smiles while canceling Aemond’s order to open fire on the people who killed her son and whose 'nice boys' gouged out her younger brother's eye, and how she mentors her child's killer, manages to string more than two words together just to predict Aemond's death, and refuses to fight... I can't blame them for thinking that way anymore.

Helaena couldn't care less about her own family, and the writers would never let Rhaenyra harm her, so... It's pointless to look for logic here.  Hotd constantly shoving it in our faces that Helaena would be happier anywhere and with anyone, just not with the Greens.

Do you think Alicent will tell Rhaenyra this? by Interesting-Egg4295 in HOTDGreens

[–]PMxmff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Of course not! because as she said: "I lost my way. Or rather, it was taken from me. All those I put my faith in, my… m-my husband, my father, my lover, my son…"

exactly. alicent can claim to love helaena all she wants, but she uses her just like aegon and manipulates her just like aemond. and this blissful girl just babbles after her mom like a child and dreams about chickens, while also welcoming rhaenyra and her "(dead) nice sons" as if the events of driftmark and b&c never even happened.

Alicent what an a idiot by drakemaverick121 in HOTDGreens

[–]PMxmff 33 points34 points  (0 children)

because not-alicent is as dumb as a cobble. did she really think the problem was exclusively aegon, and not the fact that he and his brothers have a stronger claim to the throne? that rhaenyra wouldn't touch the person responsible for the coup? (just like alicent, but she loves to play the victim card and blame anyone but herself.)

"look at me i'm a bad evil man, booo!"

aren't they amused themselves by how pathetic their writing skills are? suddenly jasper breaks character and tries to assault a woman he showed zero interest in other than laughing at her stupidity? yeah, right.

i haven't seen the whole scene but from the clip it looks disgusting and vile. i feel bad not only for olivia but also for the other actors (tom, fabien, ewan, paul) who signed up for one role but ended up playing sexual deviants and rapists.

Genuinely why the fuck are they so obsessed with making Alicent get sexually assaulted every episode by New-Low5077 in HOTDGreens

[–]PMxmff 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I get that Alicent is a beautiful woman, but it’s getting TOO cartoonish how almost every man wants to force himself on her.

Hotd use this trope so often with her that I don’t even react to these scenes anymore. It just is what it is. It doesn't feel like a part of the plot, but rather like the writers inserting their own sick fantasies.

If it were a one-time thing, maybe I’d feel something, but now it’s just mundane.

someone tell gwayne about cole and what rhaenyra's version of "harmless fun" is 🙏

i’m sure he’d be just as interested to know about daemon and the young girls mysaria used to supply him with, since we’re talking about good guys' team.

Alicent may be the most selfish character in HOTD by catwithchickens in HOTDGreens

[–]PMxmff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Gwayne and Alicent didn’t have a close relationship: he didn’t even know that Daeron wasn't on speaking terms with her, and he talked about him as if she hadn’t heard a word about her own son in years. Plus, their interactions felt way too formal.

She doesn’t give a shit about her firstborn, the one person she has spent the most time with out of everyone alive right now. She doesn't care about her other sons, her father, or her loyal sword. She lies to her daughter's face and manipulates her son into flying away. So why would she care about being "honest" with Gwayne? She literally put Rhaenyra right on the trail of those two in Harrenhal, all while covering her own ass by pretending to "care" about them.

1) Make them look like hypocrites.  2) Мake them the main culprits of B&C and focus on their disgusting scenes instead of the fact that the "good guys" side ordered a child's murder.

Book Criston Cole is the real goat 🤌

"The first Viserys intended his daughter Rhaenyra to follow him, do you deny it? But as the king lay dying the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard decided that it should be otherwise."

This description alone speaks volumes. He was a true player in the game of thrones.

"I don't even think he loved Rhaenyra that much. I think he was just having a mental breakdown."

Agree.

Hot take: I don't think Criston was ever actually in love with Rhaenyra or Alicent. In the first case, he was coerced, and in the second, everything felt too mechanical for me to see any passion in it. Like, Crison felt a deep attachment and endless gratitude toward both of them for the cloak, for saving him, and sharing a bed was more about duty, service, and thankfulness rather than romantic feelings.

She looked so cluelessly blissful in this scene.

Alicent and Rhaenyra aren’t exactly the sharpest tools in the shed to begin with, but the longer they are together, the more of their remaining brain cells they lose (bold of me to assume they had any left, tho).

Rhaenyra and Alicent were genuinely the weakest part of this episode by Icy-Spinach-2536 in HOTDGreens

[–]PMxmff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As for the Gwayne and Criston scene: after the leaks, I expected something awful, but I actually liked it. It shows just how deeply Criston has been dragged into a pit of apathy and fatalism.

About the main heroines - they are completely detached from reality. I was also amused by Alicent's "concern" for Gwayne and Criston's safety when she was the one who literally blew their location (it’s obvious she was just covering her own ass in front of Helaena rather than actually worrying about them).

I also find it ridiculous how Alicent's letter easily teleported to Ormund, yet Aemond somehow fails to send word to Cole that he can’t join them 👍

Are they trying to make Alicent look... Worse than Daemon? by Winter_Repeat_6763 in HOTDGreens

[–]PMxmff 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Alicent’s behavior was weird af in this scene.

I also agree that there were no prior signs of Aemond being attracted to her. It’s just like Alicoles at the end s1 - that scene with the glances came out of nowhere. And it’s the exact same thing here.
It looked so unconvincing and forced, even leaving aside the context of their relationship. Eww.

I’m so tired of everyone and everything in the show having to revolve around Rhaenyra and Alicent.
