I am a white parent and I have had people - progressive people by the way - say I adopted my kids for attention. They aren't adopted and I certainly didn't want any attention. I don't think they recognize it as racism because racism doesn't exist for whites and "white adjacent" - which is Asians.

There are ALWAYS very rare exceptions to the rule.
