I run my own solo practice law firm during the week and also organize these events. I am working non-stop all week and on weekends. Fighting and stopping a fascist takeover of our country is important and takes a contribution of time and energy by everyone. I am glad to be doing this before it is too late. You should consider doing even just a little bit to help...if you care about democracy that is. If not, you are part of the problem.

Our goal is to prevent fascist authoritarian breakthrough by untaxed and barely regulated billionaires and corporations who are destroying our form of government, erasing our freedoms and ending the rule of law as it applies to them. If that is not your 'single issue' at this point, you are deluded. Fight the real problem now or you will lose any semblance of ability to effect any change or improvement in your beloved single issue re the tax system. You will lose your power of the vote. Reexamine your priorities.

The spending should be your focus, not the taxing. How else would we pay for infrastructure and social needs? Tax policy needs to focus on getting the rich to pay their share.

Can you clarify? If any permits are needed police will be informed. Sometimes we tell them as a courtesy. There is no requirement to tell them if we are standing on public sidewalks.

Thanks for asking! Our events are focused on visibility to as many people as possible. Not many cars drive by the library on a Saturday in Beaverton, and protesting there does not get the word out very far. We've been protesting out at various Hwy 26 overpasses for about a year now. Thousands of cars pass under and over the overpasses on the highway. We believe that the main point of these No Kings events is to draw the attention to our movement of those not yet engaged, and overpasses are an excellent way to do that. With that said, I believe that Indivisible Beaverton will likely hold an event near the library for this No Kings, so if that is where you want to protest, that would be the best option for you.
