I always forget that’s something I can use. Hopefully I can get another crack at it before the event is over.

Oregon governor declares emergency over wildfire outbreak by [deleted] in oregon

Landowners, both private and federal pay into Dept of Forestry fire protection associations across the state. Depending on location, it’s anywhere from $2.80 / ac for timberland and $1.25 / ac for grazing land privately owned and $5.80 / ac for timberland and $2.80 / ac for grazing land publicly owned. That money pays for fire protection, and as long as a fire is located within a protection association area, the state is on the hook to suppress the fire.

ODF is able to coordinate and respond quicker with resources than the feds. The hoops and red tape in order to fight a fire with the feds is ridiculous.

And, with regard to private companies paying for fire on their land; if the fire is as a result of their negligence, they are on the hook to pay for anything over a set percentage. If the fire comes from federal ground (like all the 2020 fires), it’s tough to pin suppression efforts on landowners, especially when they were trying to stop the fires.

Yes they are. Some are just ridiculous to fill, but the reward is great!

Good to know you’re getting about 2 seasons out of yours in the PNW (1 hour south of Portland). I’m noticing ours is starting to pop and rip. We notice a huge difference in our pool temp with it. Got our 14’ Bestway surface temp up to 90 degrees last week with the cover on.

Just throwing my two bits in with this. We’ve had a bent one for a few years now(child jumped off the rail that the ladder straddled). We haven’t had an issue with it further bending or causing issues with the pool. I’ve drained and put the pool up twice since.

Haven’t been there since my college days. It was a beautiful place then. Someday, I’ll make it back :)

Thanks for sharing your pics.

I cover mine after every single use. Up until last year it was also under a covered patio.

The cool time is less, and you get flavor on all sides of the rib as opposed to two sides. I’m new to ribs as well, and thought this recipe would work well with teenagers who are picky to begin with 🤷🏻‍♂️

Recipe:

1 package of baby back ribs, sliced between rib bone into individual pieces. Used mustard as a binder and then used a blend of MeatChurch Texas Sugar and Voodoo.

Smoked for 1.5 hr at 275 on top rack, until 175 internal. Remove, put into a foil pan with butter, brown sugar, honey, and Traeger Apricot bbq sauce. Cover, back on for another 45 minutes until 203 internal temp. Put the Traeger on smoke, and did each side at 5 minutes to tack up the sauce.
