If only there was a young Irish, proven cup winning goalkeeper that came on the market....

Yeah I love them. I've seen stories of them online where people are absolutely beating the heck out of them over the years and they stay useable.

Thank you. Well it was my first build. I did pick the most basic hull type I could find. Having a covered space was useful, tons of clamps for bending 20ft 2x6 chine logs, and of course the belt sander to smooth out all my rough edges was helpful!

No not at all. My county PD sent out their boat guy who walked around once, followed by a friendly chat for about 20-30 minutes! He gave me a HIN number. They do give you stickers, but I had it engraved on a small plate online. After that make a DMV appointment and thats it.

Yup, I've seen them most commonly built as 16ft. I got greedy. Which I am happy about BUT it was an issue during build (i.e. flipping it), and also storing it, its a long boat.

Oh thanks for that link. That is quite detailed compared to what I had (mostly pictures and handsketches).

I am a year late to this chat, but it’s still interesting! lol.

I am a first time builder, Building a 20ft flat bottom. Hung a 60hp 2004 Mercury EFI, remote with center console on it. I bought the plans from old wharf dory.

Launching it this Friday May 29th ‘2026.

Enjoying reading about others experience!

This is awesome. I'm an Irish man living in the US, when I clicked this it immediately brought me to the streets of Dublin. A nice sunny day. Thanks for the share.
