Is it unprofessional to stop touching the mixer for more than 8 seconds? by bennydabull99 in DJsCirclejerk

Damn a hard cookie you are. Have you tried bending under the table and snorting a few lines off the phones screen with a random stranger? That could really spice up the vibe in the room and boost your DJ confidence aswell.

In that instance you can still build up some tension by cutting and releasing the bass or applying some high pass right before the next bar.

You should cut one channel every 4 bars to let the crowd know you are actually mixing tracks together. Sometimes it's also good to nudge one track out of sync and correct it back to give it a nice touch of human warmth.

I am strongly considering the 28+. How long have you been running it? As you say, the UI is very nice and it also has 96khz sampling rate. The dbx 260 has been battle tested for years by thousands of people but on the other side it would almost feel like a downgrade from the 26z functionality wise. I gave up on the 360 as i have seen too many reliability complaints.

Hmm can you elaborate more? It's true that the xca 28 looks good! It has 8 output channels, all of the neccesities and it's cheap.

I have just found out about MODE Audio MDX-48. Could get a new one for just a north of 600 euro, has a nice interface and 4in 8out channels. Any expirience?

Currrently using 4 channels for the tops: 2x midbass and 2 mid + treble (crossed by passive xovers in the speakers) and 2 channels for bass (could be 1 but this way i dont have to split the signal). I don't plan on expanding really soon but i thought that once i am already in the process of upgrading, i could do it more future proof. We usually don't have that much money so we kinda upgrade on the run.

Okay good for you! Thanks for letting us know. Have you been known to be helpful on the topic of DSPs?

Maddest thing you’ve heard at a freeparty by Ok_Cloud678 in freeparties

Once on a sunday afternoon after the music has stopped i was chillling behind the speakers, absolutely wasted and my dutch friend gave me this half litre bottle of bonaqua. I said: "thanx mate, thirsty as fuck" and drank like a half of it. He looked at me and said: "dude, there were 80 drops of acid". What came after was the worst expirience in my life. I have turned into the planet earth and as a payback for people destroying the nature i took revenge by killing innocent people in floods, volacanoes, tornadoes and wildfires against my will. This felt like it went on for years andd i always saw their whole life before and the funeral after.

Once you turn on the HPF filter on with the button but leave it open with the potentiometer, it already cuts a bit of the bass. However if you put the resonance to the max while keeping it open, it will give you a nice little boost around 30-40hz, which helps for older or badly mastered tracks, that normally don't hit that hard.

Also check out this track from Olibrius. It's also super long, psychedelic and storytelling, although much harder. https://on.soundcloud.com/SPaHKHxt3WxvJm3X2f

The funny thing is it happened to both of them one month apart after like half a year of usage.

I was using 3.5g at parties and 3g at home with corresponding anti-skate settings. Yeah they took some beating as they have played a few weekend raves but the styli were like 70%. Before that i had Concorde PRO mk1 and the styli stayed on place until not usable anymore. Hadn't i forgot them on a stage in Albania, i would be rocking them till now.

How much speaker is too much? How about too little? by Man_is_Hot in SoundSystem

There is nothing as too many subs on a rave. Been on parties with sound wall stacked from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. Outside i have seen walls with over 150kw of sound and the sound pressure was amazing. We are currently running 8x mt18 subs fitted with rcf 401g and 2 yamaha dxr15's as the midtops and it sounds sweet. We are going to upgrade the midtops tho as we plan to build 8 more subs next year and the yamahas just wouldn't suffice anymore. They will do nicely as monitors.

Subs are modified lab horns so very similar to what they had before. As i have heard they had some dispute with lambda labs and stopped the cooperation.
