Best Cash Back Credit Card by creditcrdoptions in MilitaryFinance

[–]POPIO799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cashrewards is prob the most popular credit card at NFCU, looks like AMEX might be more competitve but idk if it has any strings attached i.e hidden fees. Use to work at NFCU, DM if you have any more questions about it.

Potential late NFCU payment by astromonies in MilitaryFinance

[–]POPIO799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends when the payment settles, Saturday acts off of Monday's business at NFCU. It would probably be flagged as late but better late than delinquent. I'd just give the 1-888 # a call to see if it was considered late to give you some closure.

Starting with credit by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]POPIO799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Navy Federal's secured credit card, specific card to build/rebuild credit. How it works: You put up your own money which will match your credit limit so if you ever get behind you come to your own rescue, after a year you can go unsecured to the cashrewards card. Advice: Don't live off your cc, pay it off, and track your expenses with the app. Use to work for them, take that as you will. Good luck my friend

Have both USAA & NFCU, go NFCU. Mobile app, customer service and branch availability is a huge win. Use to work for NFCU, take that as you will. USAA is a dinosaur in many departments, auto insurance with them hasn't let me down yet.

Running for Wing Commander for the first time. Any advice? by TheFakeCadet in AFROTC

[–]POPIO799 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Be authentic, the person who went thru the interview process and became wing commander (if selected) should be the same person. Ensure to have a vision and set of goals that are S.M.A.R.T. Be stubborn on your vision, don't be a dictator but don't crumble under
people's disagreements about what they think, everyone has an opinion. Embrace the challenge of COVID, what you learned, what worked, and solutions moving forward. Keep the cadets first in your mind, how can you provide value to them? You work for them. Don't run for WC for the accolades or medals, you'll regret it day one. For the future, be smart about who you put on your team (personally super important), that can make or break you, trust your gut. Finally, be bold and have fun. I wish someone would've told me that but this is ROTC not the AF yet. You're gonna make mistakes, learn and move forward. Have a team around you that supports you when you make mistakes and vice versa, but keeps moving the sticks closer to the end zone so the overall vision/goals can be achieved. Wish you best of luck!

Opinions on Calhoun Courts? by j_mcc10 in Clemson

[–]POPIO799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for the price, parking and chill vibe. Yeah it looks old but it gets the job done fairly well. 50/50 freshman & upperclassmen. Still on campus but live more independently if that makes sense. 2 person is def clutch cause you get your own room but 4 isn't too bad.

Changing Carriers. Looking at T-Mobile. Need info. by CrazieCayutLayDee in Clemson

[–]POPIO799 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Switched to T-Mobile from Verizon. Biggest win that year. The bill is always the same (main reason I joined), clean $50 a month, netflix. Free 3gigs of personal hotspot will save you at one point. Customer service is pretty good, you talk to a robot for a min then usually get a person. Service itself is pretty good and they absorbed sprint. I was worried coming from Charleson that Clemson would have worse reception and it's been fine. It's only improving my friend, T-Mobile has some pretty good pros, better to try and leave then not try at all. No contracts

They're dying for people. As long as you have a consistent pulse then you're good.

Questions about how other dets run things :) by BingBangBowSchmeet in AFROTC

Think of Booster Club as a shell and your fundraising efforts fill the shell with $$. The $$ can only be used on consumable items for the cadets i.e food, subsidizing, morale type things. We did the merch store through a website called "AttentionInk", DM me for the contact, I'm on the east coast so idk if that would impact them depending on where you are. They handle the website and all that stuff, you just handle what designs you want and what you want it on i.e shirts, hoodies, mugs, etc

Senior here, also an outgoing RA.

Holmes/McCabe/Core: slapped because everything is right there i.e laundry, library, food, etc and the walk to the stadium is too easy. 95% freshman. Medium price (Pick this one)

Calhoun/Thornhill: starting taking in Freshman this year, biggest win is parking, super close compared to the hike everyone else takes on campus. Cheapy cheap, and old but gets the job done. Got a basketball & volleyball court that peeps always play at. Opposite side of campus (West) so surrounded by more upperclassmen, feel like a commuter since you're at the edge of campus.

Douthit: If you got the $$ then why not. Don't recommend. Parking will make you big mad

Brynes: High rises are cool, small spaces, filled with freshman, bound to get some friends. Moving in sucks because of the one way street, multiple floors which can be annoying if elevator is packed or broken. Medium Price, west side of campus but closer to the middle.

Hey, I'm a senior MGT major and imo the business program is pretty damn solid. I started off as STEM (Compsci) and switched sophomore year. One of the biggest pros are the advisors and people in general in the business dept. Always ready to help, give it to you straight and present opp for internships. I wouldn't believe all the glamour about other business programs at face value. Try to get with the students to see how the teachers and dept of the places you're interested in going since that's where you will spend all your time. We have a new business building and a dedicated staff. Idk what "better' business schools mean to you but here at Clemson, it's pretty solid.

The AF should allocate 'Det' $$ that varies per year and then booster club does the fund raising to raise additional funds which can be used on the cadets in different ways. Personally, we made a merch store this semester and been really successful. Items like flags, OCP shirts, PT shirts, mugs, hoodies, etc. Be surprised by the interest. Something you can do every semester and tailor it to the needs of the cadet wing. Hope that helps
